100% agreed, maybe I lack creativity but it's always super fun to try to pull those details into a scale vehicle.

I don’t see anything lacking here, excellent job.

My weekly squad got to meet up with some other local crawlers for some distanced fun! Had a blast. If you're in NC, check out Trinity Park in Mooresville.

Flexin with the boys:

Also ended up buying a TF2! I'll make a separate thread for that, but the plan is to turn this guy into a lightly modded 1st gen 4 runner. Lots of fun exploring how to get a leaf truck to flex already! If anyone has sweet deals on an electronics set hit me up.

Spare tire carrier shows up at some point this week for the 80, looking forward to making that pig e v e n h e a v i e r.

Got the spare tire carrier mounted up! Likely going to need to step up the rear spring rate and even it out a bit more. Seems like it wants almost full pre-load on the rear now. It does flex like a champ compared to the TF2 though, I was so spoiled and didn't realize it.

That’s awesome!

It even swings. That’s just next level.

Aww, thanks y'all. I'm pretty happy with it. Threw the axial "yellows" back on the rear shocks and swapped in the "whites" up front. Sits evenly, rebounds well and most importantly isn't maxing out any of the shock adjustments. Looking forward to seeing how it crawls with more weight out back!

Took a break from the TF2 to get the 80 out a bit. Still wild how much more capable a linked truck is. Also starting to really appreciate the size of the KM3's on this.

Gratuitous T4R Shot:

This looks great. I’m still shocked by how scale it looks.

My next build will definitely be a scaler. Probably a TF2.

Thanks! If you're a detail person, the RC4WD stuff delivers a great experience as far as I've seen.

Scale does have its cons though, I feel like I owe it a few sessions on the leaf springs or maybe an exploration of some of the more class 1 oriented spots locally.

Agreed. RC4WD has some very detailed stuff. some of their pricetags are pretty high up there too.

Oh yeah for sure is some cons. I don’t ever comp though, I do it all for play lol.

That is a beautiful GMC! The first truck body I made/painted looked like something my 4 year old created. How long did the hole process take?

Thanks!

I probably have two or three weeks worth of evenings in each of my bodies.

Had a great time out at DLB RC Trails with the gang. Highly recommend if you're in NC.

No real changes to the rig, it's been solid. Becoming more of a beater though each time out, I'm toying with the idea of turning it into a more aggressive trail truck:

We'll see!

A few more photos from the day:
