Default scx10 II and Ascender K5 Blazer body issues... please help.

I bought a used SCX10 II and a clear Ascender K5 Blazer body but having trouble pairing t he two......everything seems way off and confused on how to mount it nice and solid..... Please help.

I've looked on you tube but no videos of this being done or how it is done yet I see quite a few rigs with this set up.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

What isn’t lining up?

Does the new body already have the holes for the body posts cutout?

Ascender body posts use wider spacing, pretty easily adapted. Fore/aft and height mounting almost always need some adjustment. Combine mount posts, add little brackets, heat and bend mounts. You can do it! Picture of what you got going so far would help us help you.

This is because the Ascender places the body post in a different location. You can either fab up some new body post mounts that move them to the right locations or drill out new holes.

The height of the body is adjustable at the body posts, they have many holes.

If you want to use a body designed for a different brand there's going to be a little conversion involved. The body posts will have to adjusted to lift the body to the desired height. You will also need to purchase the tall rear posts or fabricate something as the typical scx10 rear posts are too short. Because it's already got holes you need to make new ones and cover the old ones or make an adapter of some kind to use the current holes. You may want to get a body that is designed to be direct fit. There may be adapter for the body on thingiverse or shapeways.

Ok, got it. The scx10.II came with longer body posts, so you may have to shop for those since yours is pre-experienced.
The body is another problem, but I think I’ve seen people use alternate body mount-braces, try shapeways, I thought I seen something like what you’d be wanting from either lockedup-rc, or maybe spare time hobbies shapeway store.

You might also have to slightly lengthen the rear links, and driveshaft to get the right wheels base for the ascender body.

first off.... thanks for all the help so far... i appreciate it.... I've been looking online for an
hour and can't find scx10 II mounts for the ascender blazer body from anybody?

I'm surprised for as many setups I see with this combo..... I find like 2-3 videos of the
ascender blazer body on the scx10 II and they look great!.....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5aDGBBNiRU

I want to duplicate my real full size K5 Blazer so I won't give up.

Most peeps modify existing mounts or make their own. Use the Ascender mounts and heat/bend, cut, whatever it takes to make them work, that's how I'd do it.
