Thanks! I’m not sure what to do with the red Jeep. Half Tempted to do some swapping with my original one then selling it. I’m really tempted to get a trx4 kit just to have some variety. I’ve spent more than I should have building my current setup but that’s half the fun right?

High rocks is still dangerous as hell but people still swim there. I find myself going to Elk rock island more than anywhere. But Lucia falls is pretty awesome just a bit of a drive. I’ve heard of people getting run out of Oswego landing but I know some people crawl at Mary S Young

yup. I bought my scx10ii rtr and I think the diff gears, frame and axle shafts are the only stock parts left. even the lockers and LURC haha it was expensive but fun. I have a trx4 and can say its fun switching from locked to unlocked. I don't do it often, but its nice having the option. The portals are also nice. My 1.9 scx10ii is still my go to though.

That's a bummer folks are getting pushed out of Oswego. I haven't run into too many issue on trails. I've heard stories in Alaska bout people complaining though. It is what is, someones always going to complain about something. I should take a weekend trip and crawl some OR spots again.

Cool seeing someone do a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited body! They’re old, but can really be scaled out. I still have my fiery orange body in storage, and plan to someday mount it on my custom 10.2 Honcho(same color) chassis, which has brass and orange aluminum parts.

Right on man that’s rad. Yea I’ll see what happens, I’ll try and sell that 10.2 and I have a Vaterra twin Hammers I’m messing with I’m going to flip.
When we go to elk rock most people don’t bat an eye. Then some gather and watch. But up at lacamas lake in Camas people complained so much they posted a sign saying “no remote control vehicles allowed” unfortunately not everyone is respectful and some people have nothing better to do than complain so that stuff happens.
If you head down this way let me know

Well since I can’t leave anything alone, and I have another scx10 ii with a kit trans. Let the madness commence. Swapping skids and transmissions. Thought about leaving frames and swapping components but seemed like a lot more work.

Looking to upgrade to a HW 1080 esc and an HH 550 27t trailmaster here shortly also.

Usually go to Lincoln city pacific city or like gearhart
Sorry I missed this before, I'm only on here now and then.

Best spot I've found so far is the south jetty at Newport, you can drive down and there are several different areas you can park and crawl. You can also walk out onto the jetty itself, tons of rocks and water on both sides of you.

Some of the spots are best at low/lower tides, so keep that in mind.

I'm always on the lookout for good spots, but so far I don't have too many that are close to home. Personally, I'm considering leaning towards the trailing aspect of the hobby, but I have questions about legality on established trails, as well as concerns about creating beef out in the woods.

Looking forward to more updates

Right on man, I haven’t been down towards Newport yet but if I do I’ll check it out.
I hear what you mean about the trails thing. There’s a couple spots up here people have been run out of or signs posted stating “no rc cars” and I’m not about conflict so I’ve hiked trails with my rig on my back and not taken it off for fear of what some other hikers will say.
I’m always on the lookout for new spots though, hope you can find some consistent spots

Well I got the 2 rigs spliced together, and both back running. I’ll have to redo the red Jeep as I have a new skid in the mail to replace the broken one.
I also got around to painting an XJ body I’ve had laying around

That has the factory setup from the 2017 Wrangler rtr. The CRC edition body came with lights and uses an ae-5L esc it has tail lights too

So now that you have two rigs... who drives the other?

I'm somewhat in the same boat where i am upgrading my scx10 ii and am accumulating spare parts...

The wife likes to drive mine and am thinking of buying a beat-up roller and abominzing a car for her ..

2 rigs?? Lol I have 4 I’m hoping to sell the red Jeep and the Vaterra twin hammers I have. And possibly the trx4 I just picked up. I wouldn’t mind getting rid of all 4 and starting over with a scx10.3 but I’ve got a lot of time into the “Cherokee”
I tried getting my girl to drive one but it’s “too slow” but no where good around here for something fast.
That would be good though hope you can find a deal on one

Been tinkering with this thing, finally ordered some decent tires, the axial r35 compound BFG krawlers should be here this week.
Also had this set of knock off gold aluminum bead locks... a little easy-off and some elbow grease now they’re polished. Not perfect but hey they’re going to get used!

Default Collaboration of scx10.2 builds

I’m going to resurrect this thread, I sold the Cherokee build 4-5 months ago and I’ve pretty much regretted it since. So
I picked up a builders kit locally about 3 weeks ago. It was unassembled so I threw it together with a HW1080 HH trailmaster 27t and some other electronics I had laying around. It came with some knock off aluminum axles and I added the ssd steering/panhard as well as some gpm rear axle shafts. Hoping to get her out for a test run tomorrow, if not next weekend for sure

Oh man I didn’t realize I left this thread hanging. I don’t have the truck anymore. Got sucked into some other projects and did some horse trading. But I did get to drive it. The metal housings got hung up on everything but it was a fun rig to tow my trailer behind. Sorry about that!
I threw some lights in the blazer body. I even drove it with the creep body at one point. But then I built it into a spare vs4-10 chassis I had and that’s when I flipped it. I got into the lcg craze but here’s some pics of its progress
