Default Ae5l issues

I have come across a weird issue with my ae5l esc! The other day I went on a decent hour long hike, only used 3/4ths of a 6400mah battery and after taking the rig home and plugging in the battery to the esc it wants to get stuck at full steering lock then the esc rapidly blinks and I get no response from the receiver. If I unplug it and plug it back in it usually works just fine after that. Occasionally after it sits unplugged for a few hours it will repeat the weird full lock but after a few resets it works normal. Any ideas? I’ve tried it on multiple lipos, only upgrades are a power he 20kg servo and incision driveshafts, which wouldn’t cause the issue its frustrating because it’s a new rig and has never had a full battery ran through it! And it’s basically new but I don’t have a receipt so I doubt axial would cover it under warranty or anything!

Axial RTR electronics : Ready To Replace

Grab a hobbywing 1080 and never look back. While your at it, put a Holmes Hobbie sealed can motor in it for 10x better driving feel.

Does it work without the servo plugged in?

Does the same thing, locks up once or twice then works fine

I think the thing that is confusing me the most is that it works fine after I unplug and plug in the battery a few times, and it only does it after it sits a while with no power

That sounds like a leaking circuit/ heat can cause it. Temp gun ?

The servo and esc have never gotten hot to the touch! Like I said it usually happens when it’s been off for an hour or more.

Default Ae5l issues

I dumped my AE5 because the yellow signal wire was broken right at the ESC and was intermittent. A failed capacitor inside could leak down.

I’m assuming LiPo’s and mode is set the same

Yep the jumpers are in the correct position. I’m wondering if the servo is drawing more voltage when first ran, causing the esc to trip the cutoff mode?
