Default Raw kit Motor fitment issue

Just wondering if anyone had fitment issues with the raw builders kit and 540 Holmes brushless motor. Bought the kit a few months ago and been slowly adding parts and electronics. When I was trying to put the motor in. I found it hitting the battery tray and a bit of the plastic of the side rock guard. Am I missing something or do I need to flip the trans skid plate or? Any help appreciated.

I didn't use the stock battery tray (went with a Bowhouse), but my motor clears the side with plenty of room. Did you use the stock pinion?

I did. That was what Holmes hobbies recommended.

Thought maybe a larger pinion was pushing your motor outward. Some pictures might help.

I'll be honest, I completely missed the "brushless" part. I just have an HH brushed 540. Seems any 540 "sized" motor should fit though. You sure that isn't an XL?

I ran into this same problem today but I had a Holmes 550 27T, its hits the battery tray. I had already gotten the STRC lift kit to install in the future... but when I ran inot the motor hitting the tray I decied to lift it right off. Thats another challenge though because the motor limited the upper link travel....

Oops! I just bought an RBK and the HH 550 Crawlmaster Sport motor, so looking at this same problem. Didn't realize the battery tray was in the path of the motor. Guess I'll either notch the tray or throw this in my TRX-4 and buy a 540 for the RBK instead. OP, did you solve your issue?

I went with the Bowhouse battery tray. Pretty beefy.

I'm just building the builders kit with a Castle Creations brushless motor. Do you a have a pic of the Bowhouse tray installed? Thanks

I'm getting close to mountin my battery tray but so far it looks like the stock one will fit with the Castle motor ok. It looks like the Castle is a little shorter than your motor.

I guess no issues here, so I will keep it stock for now. Thanks for the pics.

I got the hh crawlmaster sport too. I did have to notch the battery tray to fit. It didn’t effect the battery tray structure and I can still fit a full size battery.

That’s what I ended up doing too. Quick work with a Dremel. I thought about the Bowhouse tray, and may get one later, (for the HD servo mount) but this will work for now.
