...and a few more. Its got a Holmes Sportmaster 35t, AE-5 esc, servo from my Marlin, Knight Customs grille. I've since added a set of Scalerfab double tube rocker skids. Built it up with help from my little guy. Love this thing!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...93298bb190.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...95f8aa490b.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...b81673489a.jpg

Just gave me a kick in the butt to get my Mog finished. Thanks!

Great job. "thumbsup"

Thanks. Its also got a Vanquish top shaft and their Atlas transfer case too. Still need to get headlight lenses and some lighting to "finish" it up. Haven't taken it on a serious crawl yet but I can tell it's gonna perform pretty well.

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

Love the color... does it seem like there is something inherently playful and happy about this truck/shell? I got done painting a couple weeks ago, and first drive had a couple Vagos stop their bikes next to me to watch it running up a little hill nearby. After a minute one dude hollers, “ Man, I really like your Jeep!!!” I hope he has one right now, quietly piecing it together somewhere.

Isn’t that a lovely little story on a number of levels? I’ll bet he got something of his own by now. Yours is so “cute” I bet it’s gonna be hard to take it like that for hardcore tumbling at first. I thought mine was so “pretty” I fabbed up a basher body overnight....couldn’t bring myself yet to break off all those fancy accessories yet, lol.

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

I saw my first 'Mog out in Ashland, OR a couple several years back. Memories of that beast are what spawned this build. Dont have any pictures of that one that I know of but that's where the color choice came from. First tumble will make me jump and cringe no doubt, but that's what these things are for. Maybe down the road another body will be in the works.

Do you find your steers sharper to the right then to the left ?

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

I have an Airtronics MT4 transmitter and set the endpoints to get the steering equal left to right. I have heard about the panhard mount interfering with full lock to the left. I'm using a 20mm Vanquish servo horn paired with a Twister digital hi torque servo I had left over from my TF2 Marlin with zero issues and awesome turning radius in both directions. I haven't actually measured it, but my eyecrometer says its damn close.

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

Ok, so here's some detail of the Scalerfab double tube slider/skids. Excellent fit and finish. Looks pretty good to me and definitely feels sturdy AF. I didn't have a spare radio box, so I just hacked the kit supplied box off the factory chassis side guard/floor pan and taped it to the plate. And still no lights or lenses yet. As for a "basher" body, I think I will just abuse this one for now and then maybe build another with the CChand parts from RC4WD as a nice "show" body. Does anyone make stainless links for this wheelbase or is that gonna be something I'll hafta do myself?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...cbabbbcada.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...1f2ebf0c96.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f4aa6e6cef.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...913dacb4ab.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2c4cdeb4c5.jpg

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

Here's a few more photo updates on the progress. I have since transferred the Baja Claws to my Marlin because the 1.55 wheel size just didn't look right on this truck, but I must say they are an excellent tire. My only gripe with them was that the stock foams seemed a little to small in both the outer diameter and the width. The Crawler Innovations lil nova firm foams solved this and work superbly with these tires in both trucks. I also included a pic of the Marlin. Had to trim the front fenders a tad for clearance. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...86aa348c72.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...8863b078f1.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...333c662cfb.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6c9c4b9e79.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...5f76f92f33.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...a087260916.jpg

Im not sure if you're still looking, but club 5 racing makes a link set for this truck

Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I haven't seen that yet. I just might have to put that on the future order list. Either that or make/modify some of my own.

Re: UMG10 "Sherpa"

Recently got me some new tires and wheels, 1.9 Landies wrapped in ProLine Grunts, and Dang!, do I love how they look! Barely notice the smaller diameter with how well they grip, too. Also added some needed lighting using the DG-1 lighting controller paired up to the Attack spot lights from MyTrickRC. Got their 6" Attack light bar too, but working on a mounting solution (Probably gonna use the Knight Customs light bar mount). I added the side marker lights available from RC4WD, too. Still need a matching spare....
