Akumu: SCX10 II - Class 1 build

I built this class 1 rig a month ago using parts i had been mixing and matching for over a year now. Since i now have two class 2 rigs, i have decided to make this my dedicated class 1 rig.

This is my 2nd or 3rd fiberglass hilux body that i posted a few months ago. This rig uses an aftermarket carbon fiber chassis and completely new body and bed mounts.

Tested and won 2nd place last December 29th, definitely needs more attention but getting there.

btw, the rc4wd tires look really good and i love them... but they suck on the trail! :lmao:

Thanks for viewing!

That is a great looking rig. Simple and clean. I was going to say something about those rock crushers, but I saw you already had. I have the Rc4wd 4.19" Mtr's and they perform really well compared to previous rc4wd compounds.

Awesome looking rig man. What fender flares do you use?

Thanks guys!

Im thinking of getting the 4.19 hyrax... just because it is easier to get them.

Looks fantastic. Can I ask how you mounted the body?

see those 2 screws on the front bumper, the body has 2 holes about 6mm, the bumper press fit on it and locks the front in place.

a common way to mount a hilux body is to use the 2 screw holes on the bottom side of the doors. i didn't use that technic, instead i actually used some aluminum angle bars on the rear of the cab (left and right side mounted on the slider) and drilled 2 holes, inserted 2 screws with lock nuts to hold it in place and drilled a hole on the back of the cab. so the rear of the cab slides into those 2 screws and the front bumper locks the body in place.

i hope that makes sense. will take photos tomorrow and show the mounting. I did replaces the tires to Proline BFG's, imho, a more grippy tire.

Yes, I think I got it. Thank you very much for sharing that. I look forward to seeing the pictures.
