Is there a plastic case version like the trail king coming out?

Edit: Just saw the other post, already answered.

Will this fit the Trail King chassis?

No you can't use the aluminium transmission with the offset front axle.

On this transmission the front upper link mount can't be on the same side as the front driveshaft. That is one of the main differences between this and the Trail King transmission.

The Trail King offset front axle requires the upper link to be on the same side as the driveshaft.

I'm looking at the photos, and looking at my Trail King, and I'm just not seeing why it shouldn't be possible to mount the aluminum trans in my TK. I'm not saying it is possible...only that I'm not seeing what it shouldn't be.

Are there any differences in the individual pieces that make up the two transmissions...especially any differences in the pieces that make up the two T-cases?

UPDATE: The longer I look at the photos, and the trans & T-case in my Trail King, the more I do notice slight differences, such as the aluminum trans housing having more external screws. At the same time, when I compare the photos against the GCM trans housing, they look 100% the same...the T-cases are different (all 3 T-cases are different), but the SSD aluminum, and GCM, trans housings appear identical.

Ok. I was mistaking. I thought this was trail king trans(ssd00403) from what I read on rpp's website. This trans requires offset pumpkin for scx10ii use. Correct?

Yes the Trail King transmission (SSD00403) requires the SSD front offset axle to work due to the driveshaft clearance. SSD00403 is much lower than SSD00123.

The two units are completely different.

The Trail King transmission (SSD00403) allows the front upper link to be parallel to the front driveshaft. SSD00123 aluminium transmission does not allow this. Also SSD00403 is lower than SSD00123 so the Trail King transmission has less driveshaft clearance.

SSD00403 Trail King transmission was specifically designed for the offset front axle only.

SSD00123 aluminium transmission only works with the centred axle.

No other combinations will work.

The GCM and RC4WD transmission main housings are identical as they all came from me. That's why the SSD V8 motor cover fits all of them.

So will ssd00120 work with the scx10ii then? Seeing as how rpp website says you need this servo mount to accommodate the scale trans?

I hope SSD is planning on an aluminum version of their servo mount. That would be great for the trans conversion and a nice upgrade for us TK owners.

SSD00120 is only for SSD D60 axles and not for SCX10 II axles.

Thank you SSD. I can no longer stand my 10.2 after buying my Trail King. This should help immensely. Unfortunately I have a class 1 Trail King and a Class 2 10.2. I need to stabilize the 10.2 and this will help along with some SSD shocks.

I am seeing the 10.1 version out there. When or where is the 10.2 version in stock?
