Default Tie rod ends tightness

Definitely a newbie here, building a Axial SCX10 II. How far do you thread on the tie rod ends? Do you make them touch the rods so no threads are showing? Then by backing them out to align they are loose, whats the secret to keeping them tight. Thanks

Instead of backing them out, tighten it in the last little bit to align them. You're only turning an extra quarter turn or so, so it won't strip it out.

The links don't need to be on all the way necessarily. Once they are threaded on and attached at both ends it would be pretty difficult for them to unthread because there is a screw going through their eyelit preventing them from rotating. The threads allow for some level of adjustability in the length of the roads. All the RTR's I've seen don't have them threaded all the way on.
