Round 2. Doing this build for the same guy I just did the bruiser for, but this is for his neighbor. Plans are as follows: Ditch the stock body, wheels, tires, and front bumper Mount up new Hilux body Replace stock wheels/tires for 1.9 Wagon wheels and a better tire(undecided) Not a long list at all, just a quick little build for his neighbor that’s new to the hobby. ![]() ![]() Plan is to recreate this truck. This is his truck that he has back in the 90s so this build will mean a lot of him. Definitely gotta do it justice. You may notice this truck is a single cab, where the 1:1 is an XtraCab. So, he wants me to paint it as a single cab, no masking on the back windows. ![]() _________________ https://www.instagram.com/island_crawlaz/ 79 F150 SCX10 ii TRXWalker |

Holy cow! I completely forgot about this thread lol. Sorry y’all! Anyways, here’s a final update: 4/16: Got the body mounted to the chassis. I really like the way it sits on the chassis. ![]() And of course I had to try it on my chassis. I really like it on my 10ii, may even get one for myself lol. ![]() 4/20: Detaping the body. Love getting clean paint lines. ![]() ![]() 4/25 Had some miss-communication with the customer about the windows. Turns out he actually wanted them black. Oh well, just back the whole truck with black. ![]() I’m not 100% happy with the paint job, but he’s happy so that’s what matters. |

Pulling off the masking and overspray film on a freshly painted body is one of my favorite things to do in RC... it's like X-mas every time.
