Default Scx10ii - phat axle

Hello all!

I have the the Raw Builders Kit from Axial. The axle is changed to Boom Racing Phat Axle. The shocks are RC4WD King 90mm.

When I push down the two front shocks at the same time, the whole chassis with the body go to the right about 0,5 cm… Do you know what causes this problem amd how can I get rid of it?

Thanks!

it is what it is theres not realy a easy way around it the suspention was designed to work like that
the 3 link was designed as a comprsmise from the get go works ok on stock ride hight but our scale rigs have what would be considered a huge lift and huge lift + 3 link = axle swing
so basicly dont push down on it while looking at it and you wont have a problem lol

So is there no way to make it “normal”? Does not look scale this way. I have not realized it yet. But now it bothers me a lot.
Thanks for the answer!

Keep in mind, when driving your truck it will almost never compress both front shocks at the same time. It is a function of a 3-link with panhard that the axle will follow the arc of the panhard, some more so than others.

I don’t know the specifics of your setup in particular, perhaps changing the axle or shocks has increased this, I’m not sure.

Any time a change is made in the suspension from stock the geometry will change, in your case you have non stock axles and shocks and who knows what else, if you bought it this way your going to have to experiment with it to get it to your liking, usually it takes changing the panhard length to compensate for nonstock parts, it's really really hard to give you definitive answer without seeing it though, I just know there have been times where I have bought a rig here and there that had aftermarket parts and some adjustments had to be made. Is your steerring link parallel with the panhard link? If not that's a good indication something isn't right.

I had the Raw Builders Kit and I bought these parts myself to it. Yes they are parallel.

Everyone is on point, it's a function of the 3 link/panhard setup, regardless of axle housing or shocks installed. Only way it can be removed completely is to convert over to a 4 link front suspension with a servo on axle.

Well said! People who are die hard “scale” guys are not fans of SOA/4-link setups. My rigs that came stock with 4-link and my “EctoKeeper” that I converted to 4-link definitely handle and steer better than my 3-link/panhard rigs. I like my rigs to look good, but I’m absolutely a performance first guy. Lol

Are the shocks longer? That will certainly enhance the swing.

I don’t think it matters so much that the steering link is parallel with the panhard link. To reduce bump steer, you want the panhard link to be parallel with the front axle.

I managed to solve the problem thanks for the support. I only had to change the lenght of the panhard and the servo arm.
BUT! I have again a queston... Does this item Z-S1827 fit to the SCX10II bumper mount (~43-45mm)

Which series of PHAT Axle did you use; 70, 80, or 90?
Thanks.

And any pics of how it all turned out with the body installed?

It appears to be the PHAT AR44 series.

There's also the option to 4 link it, and keep chassis mounted servo. Pretty much like a wheely king steering setup.
