Nice!

I had a 1:1 pass me the other day with the same color. I thought about using the same color on mine!

Bright colors will look good on this body because of the contrasting black, molded parts.

I’ve opened it up and I’m already impressed by the “New” Axial!
Packaging, fit and overall box was an improvement over the RAW kit.
My issue is now I’ve gotta finish the trailer for the king, paint never seems to stop, I’m already masking the Jeep body off so I can squirt today.

Sweet video!!! It's nice to see all the positive reviews and opinions on this one. Seems to be shaping up to be a decent rig.

Love the precut body, nice and thick.
Masks seem different from other Axial masks, I’ve been busy today!

Have to say what a pleasure to build. Everything fits, plastics are totally different and I love them. All gears are beefy , few minor manual issues, but nothing major.
Body is totally painted now, I do need another can of PS55 to finish, so I can assemble so off to my enablers my LHS

Axles and gears up first, y’all know the insides, straight axial, BUT 6bolt machined gears and lockers! But I went with a HR OD set up front.
So they were assembled with the included thread lock and black moly grease.

Transmission is solid, I was not comfortable, but it was easier than I thought, messy greasing the gears and holding things. I built it as a single speed, with dig. So per manual 1 spacer was added to lock out second gear. Note..... prethread the two attachments that screw onto those shafts.......Really!!!

Shocks.... Oh Boy !!! Axial stock shocks!!!
WOW I’m humbled, I’m actually gonna use these!

Links were built, only issue is the front upper link is longer than pictured, only issue with all links and shafts. By far the easiest I’ve ever done, thanks to that hated hole!

More parts leaving the box.... smooth sailing. I’m not as quick as Josh, but I would say about 6 fun filled hours, wheels, motor and electronics on the way.
So what happens is after all subassemblies were completed it’s time for finals!
Build up servo mount, small trim was needed for my ProModeler 470 to drop in, links premounted on skid.

Now we fasten all of one side rail front to back, this was a very tight, precise fit( can’t be axial!) but by keeping all fasteners loose, all went flush.

Other side went much quicker, everything lined up perfectly!

While all this was happening, paint did dry, and pulling the masks revealed:

Wow!! That’s what it’s supposed to look like!

Time for Pizza and a beer!
Special thanks to my buddy Jack Herer for all his help today

Paint, Paint,and more Paint!!
I like to paint, BUT!!!!

Body is finished Color is PS8
Front is semi gloss black, while the faux vinyl roof is Duplacolor bed liner.Window stickers are a real pain, look....ok. Interior was hand painted , and sealed with PS55 to dull it down a bit, was gonna reverse the hat, bit that would have been another hour and I wanted all paint done today by noon.

I just didn’t want more black, and I didn’t want to paint wood grain , red was not an option for me so I coordinated the cage and wheel and hat
