Default Less tippy ideas

Finally got my scx10.3 together and painted last weekend. Took it out on it's maiden voyage and was shocked how tippy it was. Reminded me of the trx4 defender, felt like I was flipping that thing over alot and just sold it to a friend without giving it a chance.

I got the sxc10.3 for axial Fest because my other axial stuff is so modified I'm not sure it will be ok to run. Most are custom frames with axial running gear.

I did swap out the tires and rims. Rims are some Chinese aluminum beadlock, and the tires are rc4wd mtz 4.6 size. Not much smaller but aloud me to drop the suspension down. Just doing that helped a ton but Without adding weight is there anything else I can do to help?

I did also put in a promodler submicro with 104 oz-in of torque that solved the issue of the dig not engaging or disengaging. I can be dragging the ass around and get it to go back into 4wd while moving.

How do you like those MTZ tires? I'm running the RC4wd duratrac in the new x2x3 compound and they work pretty good. Post up some pics of yours!

Remove interior, faux engine for starters. I moved all my electronics to the side and put my battery on the other side, all that seemed to help a bit. Also you gotta remember this is scale, a 1:1 JLU with 42s is going to tip over too doing the same "scale" stuff with it. Its actually pretty realistic

I took out the interior cage and mirrors and lightened the body by 25%.

Wait for a member that does not want a Jeep body but bought the SCX10III.

I just bought a complete body from a member that will be my shelf queen body. The original body will be stripped down for performance and driving around like a twit while the shelf queen body will be put on when it is on the shelf or I am not beating on it like a rented mule!

So I took the roll cage out, the faux motor, and dropped the preload almost all the way down. With the smaller tires and aluminum beadlocks it made a huge difference. I didnt take out all the interior but I can see that would probably make it even better.

I like the MTZ's, not sure what your terrain is like, but here in west Michigan it's woods, sand, hills and forest. If you want rocks you have to buy them so other people's views may differ on the tires.

First photo is about the point where it was about to tip over, would have never made it close to that before.

I went to class 1 km3's on my rig and it made a world of difference. I still run the interior pan but not the roll cage. I may look at some other things to move weight around but not sure yet just what...

A few things I found that make it work A LOT better than stock:
  1. Put an 8mm spacer under all shock pistons
  2. Put an 8mm spacer over the shaft outside of the shock
  3. Change the tires. For me, basic Rock Beasts work excellent

This made a whole world of difference. No more massive torque twist, and it goes almost anywhere I want, even with the interior and roll cage.
