Default Short gear cross pin length?

Was building my SCX10 III today and noticed that the pins included in the kit are very short.....may affect durability as it hardly reaches the other side of the cut-out.

Been into RC since the 90's and have been racing both on-road & off-road....EP & GP classes....1/10 & 1/8 scale.

First time i encountered a pin not matching the cavity length of the gear.

Luckily I had the same size pins (2.5) for my 1/8 Truggy & GT kits.....but were too long for the Axial so i just cut them off to the right length.

You guys think Axial should fix this?

I have not seen anyone mention this issue. My son and I built two of these and we did not have an issue. The manual shows all of those pins in the tranny as 2.5 X 8mm. Do the pins in the tranny bags measure to 8mm in length? I used what was in the kit and have not noticed any issues or notice if mine were as short as what I see in your pictures.

Its on page 16. Yes, its a 2.5x8mm pin that goes through gear AXI232032
28T.

Yes, its the pin that comes in the tranny bag. Meaning the manual mentions the correct pin size as the pin they give you.

Thing is, its too short for the gear AXI232032
28T as shown in my photo above.

People won't catch this because of how you have to build the tranny...which is to insert the pin in the shaft which is already installed in the housing then place the gear above it.

Since I double check all the pins against the gears prior to installing the pin/gear to the shaft....thats when you see it.

If you can, kindly double check your kits and update us here on the thread....or for guys who are still going to build their kits.

Thanks.

Exactly. That is why I did not notice if mine were this short as well. My point was if mine is the same it has not shown any issues due to this.
