| On/Off Switch
I built my 10.3 and and all the electronics were what they recommended. The only thing they didn't include was a power switch. I have to pull the battery out to shut the Jeep down. I want a on/off switch but I'm having a hard time finding information on where to plug the switch in. I have the following equipment in my Jeep. Where would i put the on/ off switch. An on off switch is not appropriate for this, when a battery remains plugged in it will still draw a tiny bit and it will either ruin your battery or catch fire in extreme cases. Even with an on off switch disconnecting the battery is highly recommended. And to get back to the question, I dont know if you can simply add a switch to a ESC that doesnt have one unless you're comfortable tearing it down to find power and ground that can be interrupted. Look for a dead mans switch instead, its like pulling a fuse or flipping a breaker in that it completely disconnects the negative or positive wire from the battery. https://www.amainhobbies.com/search?s=dead+man+switch Last edited by HumboldtEF; 06-29-2020 at 02:27 PM. |

Listen to Humboldt. On/off switches are false security and just provide another failure point. Just yesterday I had to explain to my neighbour how he has destroyed his battery by assuming the on/off switch was adequate and leaving sit like that for a few days. |

Good to know. I never thought of it that way. It just gets to be a pain in the rear to pull the cover every time i want to use it or shut it down. I'll look into the dead man switch. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk |

Something else to consider, if you play in water a switch will fail. Case in point my brand new mamba x first run was a creek crawl. Got back to the car go to turn truck off and the switch did nothing, everything still had power.
