Default Best Battery Choice

Currently running a 3s 5000mah in the stock location on the drivers side floorboard. I want to change to something more performance oriented and I don't mind packing two or three smaller batteries to get the runtime. What are you guys running and in which location? I don't run the interior or cage if that makes a difference. Thanks

Why don’t you put the battery in the rear tray?

I have been running 1300mah & 2200mah 3S Spektrums lately in my 10.3.

I'm not running a 10.3 but all of my scaler/crawler rigs will only ever see 2200mAh batteries. (3S)

I strongly dislike the weight penalty of anything bigger.

I am currently running 2S 80C 5200 MAH Hoovo from amazon. if I recall they were $33 for two of them. I like the run time of a larger MAH battery.

I choose not to run a larger cell battery, IMHO more power = more broken parts. I have been out three times and each time I go the fully upgraded $1500 rigs are constantly breaking!

Hey Phyro, what position do you run your battery in? The driver floorboard or across the frame behind the trans?

I agree, the long run times are great but it kills my performance. I'm willing to do battery swaps more frequently for the performance gains.

I ended up with a Tekin RX4 in mine, so wasn’t able to put the ESC in the normal location. Got the RX4 in the side tray, and using the rear tray for batteries.
