Go with this one - Flysky FS-GT5 6CH AFHDS RC Transmitter - don't pay anymore than $75-80 for it. One of the best radios out there!

Plus it comes with the receiver as well. It'll handle multiples cars with an extra rec. They cost around 25 bucks per.

Awesome! That answers a question I had in another thread. I was looking closely at that one.

Thanks you!

Another option is the Spectrum DX5. This radio can bind up to the ESC/Rec combo in the stock gladiator. I have been running this combo in my Enduro of all things.

Also, if you go with a different brand radio and have the stock electronics installed, you will also need a new ESC. A Hobby Wing 1080 is a good choice for brush motor use.

I agree with Phyro I use my DX5c and DX4c with my SCX10II and both my SCX10III. I still use the stock radio on my Gladiator if the kids want to play so I can have all 3 going at the same time but if Its just me I love just switching to the DX5c with all my adjustments ready to go. Takes a couple seconds to switch them. My SCX10III Wrangler uses the DX5c most of the time but I also do not have the original electronics HW 1080 & HH 550 12t . I also second that Hobbywing 1080 with a decent holmes motor is wicked on 3s. Crawls great and tons of wheel speed on tap if needed.

Thanks!

It looks like I have some decisions to make.

I'm definitely enjoying crawlers and also have my eye on the Baja Rey.

Hahaha! I was an Associate person, but the recent SCT experience was a bit of a let down. It's fun and handles very well, but is more fragile than I remember from my ancient truggy.

I did make the mistake of looking at the Traxxas crawler page. Locking diffs? I'm just gonna imagine they are frail like my wayy old Traxxas NitroHawk was.

Just gotta get this servo issue sorted.

Oh yeah. I remember those.

I had 8oz or 10oz lashed to be front bumper of the NitroHawk with the fronts set as soft as I could and it still wouldn't turn unless I was slowing down. Woulda made a nice dragster.

The RC10GT was so much better until years of abuse deformed the chassis. After that, I took a long break. Electrics these days just kick ass, like you know.

My guess is that 3s speeds are more of the problem than straight up weakness on SCT. Well, other than the too short fasteners on the steering knuckles. That was a straight up flaw.
