Wow. Danny has 3 videos so far on the Basecamp, and they're great to watch. I'll be keeping up with that series to see what he comes up with.

Yeah, it’ll be interesting to see what he has planned for it. I like the look he has given it so far with the flat black and rear cage. The generic Tacoma already looking better! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk | |

Watched those DH Basecamp videos last night. I typically check out most of his videos, his builds can be pretty trippy. He goes all in on the animatronics.

I'm picking one of these up for the collection. I've been waiting for an SCX 10 3 without all the additional weight of the transmission and other features. Finally the dropped this, and I'm pleased. I love me some Vanquish stuff, but the PX is a bit too heavy for my needs. I don't need all the extra weight in the transmission. If you could get the PX without a body and the standard VFD, then I think that would be a base build for many projects. I absolutely love my Pro for those reasons, but I need a portal axle for the next project. s |

| Re: NEW SCX10iii BASECAMP Yeah it was raining in the mountains all around and had rained all day the day before. My normal places were muddy= trailheads closed. We have that nasty sticky clay that sticks to everything... So Whitewater park is man made and paved. It works for bad weather. The river was also higher than I have ever seen it there, so I lost a couple steps. My opinion on the stock Basecamp. I like it. It feels light and nimble, unlike the Trx4's I have driven. The Cg feels a little high, but that's expected considering it is my first portal rig. It's not bad, not even tippy. I trimmed the front fenders and bumper after removing the front D rings and pushing it all the way back. It needs a little front weight down low in my opinion, but not much more. |

| Re: NEW SCX10iii BASECAMP Yes. besides the bodies here are a few differences Scx10III has a Scale drivetrain, aka scale Transmision, front mount motor, 2 speed, dig, engine cover, different links and different wheelbases (Gladiator) also Straight axles (Bronco) The basecamp is much simpler. 5gear trans, center mount motor, smaller links, and an extra servo mount up front. Bumpers are different too. My basecamp currently... |

I personally love this platform, reminds me of the original SCX-10 Honcho when it first came out...only better. For me the only way it could be better is to offer it in a Builders Kit, for right now I havent changed any parts to after market pieces other than making a simple bracket to lay the rear shocks forward and moving the battery and mount forward just behind the front shock mount. The truck surprised me how well it did work with just those simple changes, I always try a new to me RTR almost stock to see what I can get out of it basically out of the box. I did order a HW 1080 and a set of pre-monuted Hydrax tires from Pro-Line the rims have too much outward offset making them a little too wide for my likes it will stay a brushed motor setup with probably a Tenkin 35T or maybe a HH 5 pole brushed motor. It will also need a better steering servo I have been using Savox for a long time but the Reefs offer a lot of great servos too. I did finally try out the Por-line tires and they do work well just too much tire sticks out beyond the fender wells, and I havent even used my regular radio yet stiil using the RTR. We would have killed for something like this in 2008 |

Thinking about trx4 , ecto, or scx10iii. I am a traxxas guy but have never owned a trie crawler. I had a wraith for a few days years ago when i was buying and selling 8th scale buggies. I also had several axial exo terras and they were fun short course but impossible to work on quickly. Never had element but i loved associated buggies Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk |
