| MUST KNOW INFO: July 18th- 20th If there are any changes in the competitions information, or itinerary, the changes will be listed on this post in RED. No judges needed! The BPRCA has provided 6 experienced judges and a head marshal. We take pride in fair competitions and believe that winning should be determined by driving, not judging. For information on rooms please check it out here. http://www.hotels.com/processSearch....child%5B0%5D=0 For rooms directly across from Donner ski ranch. Sugar bowl has just opened its doors to the competitors of the Axial WCC. There are only 27 rooms available at the lodge and they are on a first come first served basis. Each room is discounted to only $199.00 for 2 night. For more information please visit: http://www.sugarbowl.com/lodge As far as camping goes, Donner ski ranch has no fees. Donner has a large parking lot across from the main park and it is open to anyone. If you are looking to stay in a room. Truckee is the nearest location from Donner. There is a link to the rooms above. I think for the cost and fun factor, camping is the best bet. Also, the camping lot is not an actual camping site. It’s a huge dirt lot. Please note that Donner ski ranch is approx 25 minutes from Truckee, Ca and approx 1 hour from Reno. Also be aware that there are no stores in the near vicinity of the event and it is advised to be prepared. Donner ski ranch has a on site restaurant and bar, as well as a huge parking lot for people looking to bring an rv or camp out and stay for the parties. Payouts will be as follows: The 2.2 “PRO” class with full entries will receive: $1500.00 for 1st $800.00 for 2nd $400.00 for 3rd $200.00 for 4th $100.00 for 5th 1-5, Plus prizes and some of the coolest trophies you have ever seen. The 2.2 “Novice” with full entries will receive: $500.00 for 1st $250.00 for 2nd $130.00 for 3rd $75.00 for 4th $35.00 for 5th The “Supers with full entries will receive: $1000.00 for 1st $550.00 for 2nd $275.00.00 for 3rd $125.00 for 4th $75.00 for 5th First and fore most, we have the best spot on the mountain for the competition. The site is approx ¼ mile up the mountain and has spectacular views. Donner ski ranch is expecting over 4000 spectators, so please keep in mind there will be children around. We have no issue with drinking, but for picture reasons, Axial racing is supplying beer cozies to each driver at the event for the beverage of your choice. There are no cars & trucks allowed up the mountain. “Quiet” 4x4 quads are aloud as well as Polaris ranger type vehicles. As far as planning for your day, please bring all your crawlers, tools, food and drinks up with you in the morning. Ckrc crawlers and sierra sport and marine will have a buggy with trailer and 3 Polaris rangers there between 6:00 am and 8:00am to bring your crawlers and supplies up the hill. We will be pickup supplies up at the axial booth. Don’t be late; this year there will be no late transportation, Period! Donner ski ranch is enforcing the following rules: No dirt bikes. No cars or trucks. No beer bottles or glass on the mountain. No ice chest allowed soft pack coolers are acceptable. If anyone is found violating any of the above, Werock will be escorting these people off the mountain, and you will not be allowed to return. All drivers will receive a wristband for the weekend. Anyone who is in your group who is not competing will have to pay 25.00 for the 2-day pass or 15.00 for the 1-day wristbands. The bands are available at the front gate. This is a 3-day event; we will be running 3 courses at a time for Saturday’s 2.2 competition. Sunday, 2.2 novice and supers will be running 3 courses. We will be taking the top 10 from those 3 courses and running a 1 course semi-final shoot out. The top 5 will do another Final course shoot out to determine the winner. The shootout will start with the 5th place driver going first and the 1st place driver going last. This format should prove to be very exciting and it will give spectators a better idea of who’s who and who’s in the chase for the title. Note: your scores will not be cleaned for the semi finals. Pre-registration with the free t-shirt has ended on 7/09/08. For those of you who have to make a last minute decision on coming to wcc, we will be taking registration on the day of tech, but it does not include a comp t-shirt. | cool. Itinerary: Friday: Tech inspection 3:00pm- 8:00 pm, tech and drawing poker chips for running order. Welcome party begins at 8:00pm at the Donner ski ranch bar and grill. Saturday: Sorry, No late tech on Saturday. Last year late tech was a disaster and held up the event for an hour. This year tech is Friday only. Drivers meeting: 8:30 am at the Bprca booth at the “TOP” of the hill. Start of competition is 9:00am we will be enforcing the time called to the line rule. When the competitor in front of you starts, you should have your car in place and ready to go as soon as he is done. As soon as the judge is finished with the previous driver, they will start the stopwatch and give you 30 seconds to start your course. If you have not started your course within those 30 seconds, you will receive a 50 for that course and the judge will move on to the next competitor. The Bprca will try to be as fair as possible with this ruling, but everyone needs to understand that there are 160 competitors and we have to finish in a timely manner. Officials will be pulling crawlers for random re-tech all day. Estimated end of event is approx 4:00 to 5:00pm. At 5:00pm, Saturdays raffle will end with the drawing of the $1500.00 CKRC / Axial donated competition crawler. Awards ceremony will follow. Sunday: Start of competition at 9:00 am Format will be ran the same as the 2.2’s from Saturday. estimated time of completion would be between 4:00 to 5:00pm At 4-5:00pm, Sundays raffle will end with the drawing of another mega prize. Awards ceremony will follow. |

| Here is the info from the Axial website about sign ups. The 2007 Axial West Coast Championship changed RC rock crawling competitions, as we know it today. Come and be a part of another history making event. After the first week, registration is open to all 2.2 and super drivers thru out the country. Registration is $75.00 and can be purchased here:
This is a spectator friendly competition, so spectators are encouraged to come join in on the fun. For the wife, kids, friends, etc. Spectator wristbands are $10.00 per person or $15.00 for both days and can be purchased at the event. The wristbands cover both competitions. The top 3 finishers of the 2007’ WCC have an auto invite. 2.2 PRO:

| You can consolidate the Southern Nevada into the Reno group. SinCityRCRC will not be in attendance. I just figured it would be a courtesy to let you know. |

Thank you for the courtesy and professionalism, but those spots were a courtesy to SinCityRCRC for thier hard efforts at holding the best comps that southern Nevada has ever had. Your comp locations are endless and I'm envious. Sorry to hear that no SinCityRCRC "DRIVERS" will not be representing in this years AXIAL WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. Hope to see you in '09.

Nor-Cal has a huge following of r/c crawlers. To drive in the novice class is your choice. We would like to see the top 10 finishers in the pro class. After the week grace period, the remaining pro spots will be open to anybody.

| Hmm...so since I finished 4th in last years comp, with no dig, and a full sized body...I must be a novice!! Don't know if I am considered a full SinCity dude yet, but I might make it, that's the same weekend as BalzerFest in Hollister, and the MotoGP races at Laguna Seca....decisions decisions....I know I will be in NorCal that weekend....but where...?? |

| Good news on rooms! Erin from sugar bowl just called, they lowered the room rates for the event. Here is the update. Breakfast will be included with your stay. They will be opening The Belt Room Bar on friday and saturday night, and serve a bar menu. The new rates are $199.00 for 2 nights (2 night minimum based on double occupancy) $75.00 for each additional night. Remember there are only 27 rooms at the lodge, so act fast. Call sugar bowl at 1-530-426-6742 for reservations. Last edited by KING BLING; 06-05-2008 at 12:33 PM. |
