Default so, what brushless system?

I know this was covered somewhere, but thought I'd bring it up again! lol
What system would be good for this? I have a sidewinder esc...
I'll probaly run it stock for awhile, but always have the upgrade bug nagging

I'll be trying out a MMP with a CC 4600kv motor. I know it won't crawl but it will be interesting to see how it handles the power. Once I get some more funds for R/C i plan on getting a couple of HH motors. I want to try out the Brushless sensored outrunner as well as his puller motor. The brushless is rated at 2000kv and the puller motor is a 10T brushed. I'm hoping one of the two will give a good balance between speed and crawlability. The CC motor will only be for goofing off until it gets into my slash.

From what I have been reading this will be a popular choice. I think I will go this route because I like to play in water.

I am trying to hunt down a VXL for mine right now. I ran my Wraith for quite awhile last night am was very happy with the stock speed on 3S (however a BEC is a must on 3S).

The VXL should be PERFECT though.

Castle Sidewinder with VXL motor will be my choice. The VXL ESC sucks and has zero drag brake. The startup between the VXL ESC and anything CC is night and day.

The motors can be had used for 40-50 and last time I looked rc-tech had a decent selection being sold in the market place.

I think I paid $75 for my scx10's VXL System!
I don't think that's the norm though, there were just no other bidders

Be very careful when going brushless. They are a blast but easy to blow stuff up! I stripped the transmission out in about 5 mins yesterday with the VXL on 3s. I think I need to stick with 2s packs and add a bunch of beef to the drivetrain.

I have a Sidewinder, and a VXL motor. Will the transmission hold up to 2s you think Harley? What pinion are you running?

I think it will hold. There is a chance you could damage it if you are way too hard on it with shock loads or in binds though.

I am running 20/84 now.

I think a 3s with stock setup is pretty dang fun. For me it's fast enough that you can't turn without it flipping over.

This rig isn't a low slung SC type truck... it's a big & bouncy solid axle rig. It's not a cushy ride. At full speed with the 3s powering it, I hit a small rock(~1/2" sized) and it went up on two wheels. The rig has no weight to it.

Did anyone think of the Castle 3800 SCT system?
