Badger's Axial Wraith reborn VP style

My Wraith showed up today, I can't wait to get my Traxxas VXL brushless system in it. First I am going to run the stock electronics to give a review with them.

On to the pics.

Looks good badger. Can't wait for mine to get here.

Recce01 06-01-2011 02:33 AM

Right on Badger! I am looking forward to seeing the Wraith brushless :) great photos man.... You always present the best images!!

Mr. Ed 06-01-2011 03:05 AM

Great pictures as always, I really like how the front axle is set up from the factory. I havn't noticed that they come with clockable C's"thumbsup". The steering knuckles are a trip too. I don't really get why the rear steer part is moulded in, and the front steer has bolt on " thingy's". whats your 1st impression on the cvd style drive shafts?

I'll hang up now and listen to your answer:)

Look forward to hearing how the VXL does, I have one sitting around that could be used if needed.

gabehunt 06-01-2011 05:41 AM

sweet man, great pictures, cant wait to see some action!

OOOOHHH Sh*t it's on now! I'm keeping my eye on this thread. What upgrades are you gonna do to it like shocks and wheels?

Harley 06-01-2011 07:28 AM

Good work badger I can just drive mine and not worry about the detail shots.

The VXL is going to be the ticket I think. The power and waterproof will be a blast.

MG200 06-01-2011 07:42 AM

Looks great right out of the box!

I'll be sure to get video of it running both brushed and brushless. Thanks.

The cvd style drive shafts look nice but not as beefy as I would liked to have seen them being this is a rock racer that most people will be putting brushless systems in.

The stock axial shocks work great but I will more then likely upgrade them with a set of Proline Power Stroke scaler shocks and for now I don't plan on upgrading the wheels since it's going to have a lot of wheel speed the stock plastic wheels will keep the rotating mass to a minimum.

Awesome, you don't even have to do a review on it since Kaetwo already did one. :ror:

That doesn't look like any fun. I'll give you 50 bucks for it and take it off your hands.

I was under the impression that the knuckles and chubs were the same as the XR10, which in case you don't know, has behind the axle steering.

The c-hubs and knuckles are from the XR10. The rear axle is the same as the front, the difference being that instead of having the c-hub and knuckle it has a straight axle adapter that slides onto the axle. This is the preferred method when you do not have rear steer because it reduces the amount of parts as well as creates more clearance by not having the mass of the c-hubs and knuckles hanging off the axle.

If you want to convert the rear axle to have steering you can, you will just have to buy all the parts needed. You can find all the info in the manual on what parts are needed from the front axle build steps.

I think you mean Behind the Axle steering, or "BTA". Not rear steer ;-)
