Ok now I got ya. I hate having one off axle shafts normally. They are a vulnerable part, especially with 4mm shafts. I think you could make the XR work for you.

There is no benefit at all. The only thing is that you typically see a centered pumpkin on the rear axle of most rigs with the exception of rear engine cars. So it's only for scale reasons.

Haha, we talked today. I am going to have them send me two raw housings for the back. So they won't have any coating or the beadblasted finish. After I am done with the modifications I will send the housing back and have them blasted and anodized. Hopefully that really blends the modifications into the axle.

I went ahead and ordered 4 new 4s Lipos for the Wraith. I wanted to get them here before the chassis gets underway so that I can make sure we make spot for it have it that allows for easy changing.

I have been using Hobbypartz lately for batteries, the Gen Ace stuff has just flat out worked great for me. I picked up a couple of the regular series stuff and a couple of the ECO series which is only 20c. With 4s I am sure it will still have more then enough punch. Just need to get the new arm from Holmes on the way.

It's likely that is why they caught my eye a little more then they normally would.

heyy harley, what batteries were you running in the stock wraith chassis. you've inspired me into buying one for my self, and as i am buying pretty much everything on the net, i want to buy as much stuff as possible at once to save on shipping. i was thinking of putting the battery under the hood, for crawling purposes, and i need to know the dimentions of the space in the hood that would allow for a battery to fit.

I was running a very large 3s 5250 pack that meant modifying the cage to make it fit. I don't actually know the dimensions of the area you have to work with for sure.

hi harley, because of this thread, i order a wraith kit. i hope you can help me with my questions. i wanted this to be fast but don't want to brake the stock parts.

1. for sensored brushless setup, im choosing between 13.5t and 17.5t, i like the way your 13.5t power but it damages a lot of parts, is there a big difference between 13.5t and 17.5t in terms of speed? hows the 17.5t compare to stock 20t motor in terms of speed?

2. are you familiar with hobby wing xerun sensored brushless? is it good?

3. should i change the stock gearing if ill run 13.5t or 17.5t?

4. why cant i find vanquish products on ebay? where can we buy it online using paypal?

5. you have mention in your earlier post how to beef up the drive shafts using two female shafts in the output and super glue it on the male, do you have picture or illustration for this?

6. i have a futaba BLS 351 and 352 servo, are these enough power for the wraith? which one is best suited for the wraith? should there be a need of external BEC?

7. what cms kit that has greater performance than the stock axle mounted servo?

thank you so much harley!

There will be a noticeable difference in speed. You will see similar parts issues with either system. Brushless motors have a considerable amount of power.

2. are you familiar with hobby wing xerun sensored brushless? is it good?

They are not a great choice for a crawler because of the braking on them. I would suggest staying with the brands I recommended.

3. should i change the stock gearing if ill run 13.5t or 17.5t?

Going to 32p gears helps durability

4. why cant i find vanquish products on ebay? where can we buy it online using paypal?

Vanquish sells through certain dealers, those dealers are not on ebay. You can buy VP parts through many places using paypal, including direct from them.

5. you have mention in your earlier post how to beef up the drive shafts using two female shafts in the output and super glue it on the male, do you have picture or illustration for this?

I don't. It's not a method I used, it's just a thing we used to do a long time ago with other shafts.

6. i have a futaba BLS 351 and 352 servo, are these enough power for the wraith? which one is best suited for the wraith? should there be a need of external BEC?

Those servos are pretty low on power, around 200oz/in or under, but they will work. The 351 is probably best since the 352 is a high speed helicopter servo and may not be up to the stresses of crawling. A BEC is always a good idea.

7. what cms kit that has greater performance than the stock axle mounted servo?

The CMS kit is for scale apearance, not better performance.

thank you so much harley!

thanks for the reply harley, still have few ?s if you don't mind.

if choosen is crawlmaster combo, what winding should i choose?
and what is timing?

2. how can i achieved the 32p your saying?

3. what happens if the stock gearing will be use for the above choosen motor?

4. is there a need to install a VP wraith pan hard kit? how does it work?

5. what's the difference between RACING ACKERMANN TIE ROD and STEERING ARM, and the non RACING ACKERMANN counter part?

The TORQUEMASTER CRAWLMASTER COMBO comes with a BRXL and a Crawlmaster motor. The CM motor is a 5 pole motor which is very smooth, my preferred motor in the Wraith. I suggest the 13t version.

TORQUEMASTER PRO ROCK RACER COMBO comes with a BRXL and a Torquemaster motor. This is a good combo if you want to save a little bit of coin. I would suggest the 27t motor.

I can't explain the full meaning of timing because I am admittedly a little ignorant on the subject. However I know what I need to run for what voltage and such. Just tell Holmes what truck and battery you plan to use and he'll preset them for you.

2. how can i achieved the 32p your saying?

You just go buy a new spur gear and pinion. I use Kimbrough 60t spur and Traxxas 15t pinion.

3. what happens if the stock gearing will be use for the above choosen motor?

Nothing will happen, you just stand a chance of stripping the spur gear at some point. You can run it until you do that, that is actually what I did.

4. is there a need to install a VP wraith pan hard kit? how does it work?

No need at all, it just puts the servo in the chassis to hide it from view. It is all for those that want the truck to look more realistic. It changes the suspension from a 4 link to a 3 link with panhard. It would take me awhile to really describe how that works and I hope you don't mind that I skip that.

5. what's the difference between RACING ACKERMANN TIE ROD and STEERING ARM, and the non RACING ACKERMANN counter part?
thanks

The racing version is for proper ackerman, meaning the inside tire turns tighter then the outside tire. This is helps turning at speed. However if you plan to crawl and are going to leave your axles locked I would suggest the non-racing version.

I suggest a 3s battery and 3000mah or above. It just depends on what you can fit.
