wraith tech crawl? So you lucky few people ...can the wraith crawl stuf like the AX10. or do you think it will need a ton of mods....can we cat a pic of the wraith flexed out? |
It will crawl fine, the suspension has no problem articulating to its fullest even without adding weight. It does however need some weight added to the front end to pull up on some crawling stuff, but that is easy enough to do. I would also recommend running smaller and lighter batteries then a standard 6 cell NIMH to keep the weight out of the back end. |
What about the shocks? Most videos I have seen look like the springs are very stiff. I'm trying to figure out what I will have to change right off the bat for crawling. If I get one, the first changes will be to put a spectrum RX in it so I can run my DX3R, and change out the servo to one that I had for steering in my Losi 1/8th truggy. I'm also guessing that I will need to swap out the springs and oil. Does it look like a droop setup would work for the wraith? |

A new motor and different gearing is what I would suggest. I will be building a second Wraith that will be all about crawling soon. I am going to use a Holmes Hobbies 16t Crawlmaster Pro: http://holmeshobbies.com/product.php...&cat=17&page=1 |

The stock truck comes with the shocks set in the furthest outboard setting. This setup is for a firmer setup to accommodate faster speeds. If you move the shocks inboard the spring rate softens some. Also, once you cycle the springs a few times they will soften up some. But we do offer a complete range of springs that range from 8 to 1 lbs/in. Info on the shocks and springs can be found at the links below: http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/ax10o...shock_set.html http://www.axialracing.com/ftp/Axial...m_Springs.html |

Wow...good stuff...thank you all for all the tech knowledge...I have a Word file with pages of ideas, mods, and tons of useful info on mod-ing the Wraith from all of your killer threads. This will be my first crawler...it's killing me I have to wait so long but It seems it will be worth it. I am so tempted to get a honcho, it's what I was originally going to get...maybe both? No...My girl would wraith my satchel. |
