Everything depends on your intentions with the rig. I run a 5250 3s Lipo in mine. If you plan on running a brushless system then I suggest a higher capacity battery in order to support the amp draw those systems will pull.

Was getting ready to post something similar. I'm coming from an 1/8 scale brushless buggy background and ran 2s 5000mah packs in series for 4s with close to 30 minutes runtime. So I've got some 2s packs already. Haven't had a brushed vehicle in 20 years, let alone a crawler, and now to confuse the lines a little more we have the wraith. With it being a faster vehicle, won't it eat batteries a little faster than a typical crawler? What kind of runtime should we expect from the 2200mah or 5000mah packs on a stock setup? Should we be looking at something inbetween like a 3000 or 4000 with the energy to weight ratio in play?\ I really don't want to have to change packs every 10 minutes. 25-30 Minutes is ideal for me. What size pack with get us that kind of runtime in the Wraith? Am I just overthinking this? |

I just ran a 4000 2s pack through my brushless version and got about 20 minutes or so out of it. On a stock rig a 4000 pack should get you into the 30-40 minutes of crawling, if not more. Now if you are full throttle bashing the whole time you would probably be in the 20-30 minute range. The 4000 2s pack makes mine handle fantastic at speed. I am able to do controlled power slides easily without tipping over. As soon as I go to the 5250 3s pack I end up on my lid when going to fast into a turn. | |

So there is room for a big battery? I have some 3s 4k-5k for my scx10 and from the pics I wasn't sure if they would fit. They must just hide under the body huh?

I've ordered up a 30C and 45C 3300mah 2S packs to start out with. I have the 30C already, it's really light compared to the 3000mah bats my son uses in his dingo. Look around on the battery web sites for the weights. I know Thunderpower lists the weight and dimensions of their packs which helps when trying to figure out what will fit. |

yeah weight is an issue. I use heavy ones on my scx10 becuase I like having weight in the front, with it in the back I may go down to 2-3k...

Gerrish runs his batteries up front under the hood. Just like any crawler, you can do what you want, run any motor, esc, servo, battery and put things anywhere you need too.
