So pretty much with almost 2 lbs lost you'll be nearly as fast and be getting one over on gravity. I like where your head is on this one!
Seriously that truck is too effin cool, great job so far

I am ditching the heavy trans mount, the summit trans, the 1/8th scale brushless and 6s. Its just destroying the truck every time I drive it. I am not mature enough not to use the power either.

So the plan is:

Built ax10 trans
Tekin Sc4 motor
Mamba Max pro

Should still be fast and fun but should shave about 2lbs off the rig while
adding 1" of ground clearance.
Hei, any up date..?

Thanks for all the kind words. It is defiantly a fun truck! Pm Jerry (the dmg) he is very reasonable on his prices and I am extremely happy with his build quality, communication and craftmanship.

Love this rig, I am seriously thinking of going to a bigger brushless motor, I love the power this has and the summit trans is awesome.

Everything is looking good. I like how clean the lights look hooked up to the body. It looks like they were built in when you got the body... And did you have happen to twist any of your drive shafts when you first got it from the speed? Just curious Sweet rig! I like the looks of it!

Got some updates. Should have pictures and video soon. I have had this thing blown apart since last October

Anyways here is a list of updated parts

Vanquish ax10 transmission cases
Crawler innovations 6mm outputs
Robinson Racing gears
BWD F-off motor plate
Holmes Hobbies revolver S out-runner prototype
Went from 6s down to 3 and I may try 4s
mamba max pro

Ready for the impressive part....?

Dropped nearly 3lbs

The truck still has great wheel speed but can actually crawl now that I have some ground clearance back and it's not having to slide a 10lb rig over the rocks.

Like I said, stay tuned for pictures and a video. Thanks

I have to ask, how did you get 3lbs off of her? Is that all in that 6s battery?
Can't wait to hear how that new motor does.

I've had the pleasure of running Holmes Hobbies new brushless 2000k outrunner for the last few days and so far I am very impressed with the power and torque. I have it paired with A castle mamba max pro sensored esc powered my a 3s lipo. The take off is pretty good considering I am running fairly aggressive gearing and I haven't played with any throttle curves in the radio or esc. They are both set at straight linear. I have a basic raw dslr video uploading right now to show the throttle and smooth driving. I will try to get a more action filled video in the next few days.

Plus I want to show off my new tires and wheels.

I really do like your rig! I had the pleasure of trying out one of those new motors at ECC in John's Wraith. They had a ramp there jumping the SC trucks that I pulled it up on and at near vertical it still had buttery smooth throttle control. I also got to see another version with the can removed......they look amazing inside

Been a while to say the least since the last update. The rig has been used and abused. I loaned it out as a class 3 and ttc rig last year for rc4wd scale challenge. And after new bearings and new electronics I figured it was time for a new look too. After years of modding the cage work with new setups and bends and rewelds I figured I'd just cut the back half off and start over fresh.

It all started with a cardboard bedside.

Then cut the rear section off.

Mocking the new sides

First mock up with axles.

And here is how it's sitting now.

Also pickup up some black curries from RPPHOBBY.com they had their 15% off weekend so I took advantage. Used the centered yeti/wraith rear axle.

I'm attending the scale challenge this august so I will be removing the front rails, installing tube and installing a CMS and panhard setup in the near future.
