Default Neil's Wraith

Mine is in, Just added a Deans and a CC-BEC for now. Skinz are coming:

Still need to order

-HH 25T
-HH BR-XL Waterproof
-Hitec HS-7954
-Axial Knuckles, Chubs and Lockouts
-Robinsons
-Over or Underdrive (depending on what I can find)
-Futaba R2104GF
-VP SSZ-11s in black (not sure what offsets)
-Ripsaws
-MIPs

And make new links. But this has to wait till my EB is done, so mid July to get started on it, should be able to break plenty of the stock parts between now and then.

lol. Well, I sold my R1, so why not. But I really am not going to do much to it until after my EB is done and we do our next TTC. Working on a trade with my Hilux too.

Is that a "custom" skin. I don't see Wraith skins on the site.

Little more running on it. Had it submerged and floating in lake michigan.

Impressions.

First of all, the steering is shit, links and servo. I am running on a 3S 35C 5000MHr battery pack with a CC BEC set at 6V and the steering is still shit. The Chubs and Knuckles are also junk, they will be the first to go, followed by a new steering servo, Robinsons Gears, an HH 25T and an HH BR-XL.

That said, this think is a blast, great suspension, nice track, good at slow speeds and high speeds. Waterproofing is great, I had to move the lights controller out of the RX box to put the CC-BEC in it, but is ran fine fully submerged in Lake Michigan.

Comparison in size with a SCX10 Based JKL Brute TTC and a 1,9 based EB.

Warning, the movie is cheesy and I need to teach my wife how to use a video camera.

Just got it today from OSO, it will have to sit while I finish up my EB for the upcoming G6 and get my JK ready for our 2nd TTC. But them I hope to bring him back.

And for sure my 2 favorite EBs were Tommy R's Big Oly and OSO's old Orange Crush EB. I missed getting the Orange Crush but was happy to get Big Oly from OSO. Kind of a twisted bit of trading there huh?

This guy is going with a 25T HH and a modded FXR on 4S (2X2S on the skids). Thinking 2.2 Boogers sipped. HS645MG Winch, Savox SC-1268MG Front and Savox SC-1256TG in the rear. Gotta Toob the axles and find some overdrive gears (hard to find ATM) and then wheels. Maybe some Motorworx.

Did the Link mount reversal and changed the shock position, made a bigger difference than I thought it would.

Stock Link and shock position

Stock Link and shock position changed

Overall looks lower and meaner. Did twist a shaft and bend a link already after just 1 3S pack.

Due to an instantaneous drive shaft blowout on my TTC in the parking lot, my basically stock Wraith was put to the test. I will say it would have done significantly better on 2S in the first 3 events. But who am I to ever listen to anyones advice so in went a 5000MHr 3S 35C.

First Event - Hill Climb. Immediate out of bounds and a DNF. Wow at the torque

Second Event - Sled Pull. On a dusty ball field I think I made it 6" before I pulled and end over end wheelie. No weight translates into major sled pull suckage.

Third Event - Frame Twister. This was the Wraiths element, crawled great, plenty of power to jump off of obstacles and fly through the mud. Final gate was a climb up a large boulder then a leap off to clear some logs and a quick climb up the hill to the finish line. All but one had trouble here, but I dropped into a hole and tried to power through. At that moment the stock motor let go in a cloud of stink

So now I need to make a decision
- Goat 3S (Ballooned) and an 18.5 brushless motor. As I will have to run on 3S, I will need to move the receiver and Speed control to the back and locate the battery and a servo winch in the hood.
- HH BR-XL and a 35T (what I have on my parts wall). I could run this on 4S and would probably use the stock ESC mount and leave the receiver where it is and then run 2 X 2200MHr 2S 30Cs mounted one on each side in the interior or uner the interior. Have to check for clearance.

Making new links and a servo winch for it also.
