Alright so the guys at my LHS Hobby Proz hooked me up with some new power in the form of a Lipo 3s 4200 Mah.

And I did some work on moving the Battery and ESC.

That's a great idea, I will do that on mine for sure. Once you take out the battery tray those shock mounts get flimsy.

Nice build....How did you mount the lipo in the front?

I see the velcro straps in the picture but how are the straps
mounted on the chassis?

More pics please

I used a axial battery plate and mounted to the chassis brace. Check out the Albuquerque wraith#2 thread for the pic's it was slick-boy-rick's idea.

albuquerque wraith #2

Does axial make these? or are they the aftermarket ones I'm seeing on ebay and online?

Okay so I was thinking of running a Holmes Hobbies BRXL and Crawl Master 13t Motor but as of right now I don't see that happening. So I wanted to see what you guys think about a new ESC and Motor combo for the Rig. I want it to crawl but I want some good BASHING SPEED as well.

What do you guys think???

HH BRXL and 13T CM
FX-R for the ESC
Novak Brushless system
Caslte Sidwinder system

I like the power the VXL 3s system puts out I just need DRAG BRAKE

I drove RPMJ's with a HH Torque Master 20t, it's was pretty dang fast and still crawled really well on 3s. The Crawlmaster 13t just isn't fast enough to do real bashing, it's only roughly as fast as a 27t which is what I run in my 1.9er and it's not nearly fast enough. When I get my Wraith I'm going to go with a BRXL and a Torque Master 20t but possibly on 4s. If you want to do any crawling I would stick with brushed, for me personally I just can't stand the brushless stuff for crawling although the speed is freakin awesome!

I would recommend:

Mamba Max Pro
Tekin 13.5 sensored inrunner
4S Lipo

You will love that combo.

I have a 200 amp Tekin FXR PRO ESC if you want to stay brushed. It will handle anything you throw at it.

It depends on gearing and voltage. I had this combo in one of my SCX-10 based scalers for a year now. With 96 tooth spur and 18 tooth pinion, it was plenty fast, would crawl amazing, and pretty fast at wide open throttle. A 1300mah 4S battery would last about an hour and half. The key is volting up and gearing down. If you want more speed just run 5 or 6s. Or you can run a 10.5 motor for more speed and less torque. My Wraith has not arrived, but this is the combo I am installing once I receive it.
