If you were to run a castle ESC and motor, what would you get? I'll be doing some crawling, but a lot of bashing around in gravel, dirt and in minefields. I know I am limiting myself by sticking with only Castle for a crawler, but I've got good reasons.

I'll be sticking with NiMH for now due to availability, already have a bunch and a good charger, I'll likely make the jump to Lipo when I get home.

My wraith hasn't even shipped yet and I've already got a couple motors, a new servo and horn, a boatload of tires, and spares parts coming. Parts are a minimum of a 7-10 days away so I want to make sure I've got plenty of spares.

If you want to go only castle then I would say go with the SCT system. It will have the most torque for low end control. Brandon from Axial has ran that setup and was the one to suggest it to me.

I honestly don't know that. May have to pose that question to the Axial guys or do a little searching in the AX10 or SCX10 sections to see what those guys have found in their expierence.

The spur gear cover was designed to work with the 87 tooth gear that comes with the SCX10 and AX10. You may be able to fit something larger but it will start to get very tight.

Good info Josh, so far I agree with everything you put down... I'm surprised you didn't put in to paint the body panels orange though...

Thanks for all the info harley...I don't know if your going to touch on shocks...is there any modifications that can be done to the stock shocks till I replace them? I will mainly be doing crawling...I think angling the shocks back more will help for crawling...is this correct? I appreciate you taking the time with all us wraith noobs...I know your a busy guy

I'll definitely get to shocks. Angle them back and pick up some softer springs. The stock springs are a little too stiff if you only plan on crawling. I'll go in depth later. Also, flipping the link mounts over will give you a nice lower ride height with the stock shocks.

Can anyone please provide the info of how long for the stock shock of Wraith? Is it the same length as AX-10? Thank you.

They must be talking about the dia of the shock shaft. It is listed as 3.5mm, not inches. I can assure you the eye to eye dim is well over 4"

sorry.... I knew what I meant.... Maybe I should just go to sleep and try again tomorrow...

What I meant to say:

They both use the same shock shafts and bodies... So yes they are the same size...
