I now kinda dislike this rig. glad squirrel won these

I don't see this an improvement over the stock wraith. this thread was only intended to increase ebay bids

I see you've become angry. Perhaps, once your anger clears a tad, you could read the first post, which clearly states how this chassis is better than a stock Wraith. After reading that, I'd suggest you move on to the rest of the pages of BUILD THREAD where I show the steps involved in creating this custom chassis. Now, build threads are many things to many people, but most find them helpful and inspiring, since the creative aspect of crawling is what this website is all about. If you dont feel that this build thread presented any useful information, interesting pictures, or inspiration for other Crawling folks on this site, then that's fine, and you may move along.

I'm going to continue doing build threads here on Rccrawler, and then, occasionally, I'll sell the new chassis on Ebay. As a vendor and chassis builder, I dont see a problem with this. If you are still furious, feel free to PM me and we can hug it out virtually.

Have a pleasant day.

Not any time soon, but I'll be building some other Wraith chassis in the near future. Stay tuned!

Evan, that's disheartening to say the least, I like to see different build threads and wasn't aware it was required to improve upon existing rigs to post build threads, although most do, but diversity is what makes these places fun! anyhow, keep it up rbgerrish and post new builds soon! I may steal a few ideas for my own build!

Um...hmmm...ok. If you can't see the aesthetic quality of this build and how that adds tremendously to this forum as well as the hobby in general, then...I honestly don't know what to say.

"Only intended to increase ebay bids", really? I mean, you honestly think the thread has no redeeming qualities whatsoever? That he went to all the trouble to stop work, take pics, resize and upload with commentary so we could all enjoy the build process and creative evolution of the truck and all you got out of it was he is a scammer?

I honestly don't get some people's reactions to art. I really don't.

EDIT: So, you are "glad Squirrel won"? Did you lose the auction to Squirrel? Is that what your tirade is really all about?

Lol. I just dislike the rig. To me the Shape is good the execution is bad. But is advertised as front biased which to me reads heavy and us more marketing type thing. Furious well I'm not I'm also not afraid to put my opion out there.

What dealt gets me is the shocks layed down so far and tgw dorkish look ( ;) ). The big gaps on the winch bumper or front end also stood out with kinda a goober weld not sure the material or the process used to bind them.

Creativity is awesome but my oppion as you can see has changed.

No I didn't bid squirrel has some fugly dorky stuff so its fitting

Furious no not all maybe I should keep my opion to myself

And yes please keep doing builds.

I know my builds really suck and I keep doing them.

Your skill actually looks to be quite a few knotches above mine and I'm curious to see what comes up in your future buildd

Hello Mr. Evan,

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, although I'm confused by a few points you've raised. First, I've been R/C crawling and building custom chassis for 12 years now, and have accomplished enough in this hobby to know how to build a capable crawler. I'd happily compete with this chassis at any class 3 scale comp, and it'd do well. A front weight bias is desirable, and I shouldn't have to explain why- hopefully you've figured that one out by now. It's not 'marketing hype,' it's proven basic crawling physics. The shock position is adjustable, and not laid down too far at all. Valving, oil, preload and spring rate can easily be tuned to meet any performance needs the driver may have.

I'm not sure why you are suddenly hating so much, as it seems your feedback is generally aimed at being offensive rather than helpful. Again, I dont care if you dont like the way the thing looks, for looks are totally subjective. Seems like you're offended that I put this on ebay?

Best advice...Ryan, build what you build and be proud.

Others, if you like what you see, support the builder. If you have a critique about an aspect of the build...post up with your thoughts. Honest, thoughtful, concerning questions about an aspect of a build open up a conversation and in my opinion are things I'd like to hear when building a custom chassis.

If you somehow flat-out don't like something you see in the thread, move on and don't check back. The forum is a great place to be, with tons of talent.

When we support each other, we both win. When we start flailing useless opinions, only one of us loses.

The hood and grille came from this:

https://www.prolineracing.com/bodies...ia-clear-body/

Discontinued Pro-Line Desert Militia Short-Course body

Roof from this:

https://www.prolineracing.com/bodies/slipstream-e-revo/

Discontinued Pro-Line Slipstream E-Revo body

Sides were handmade from sheet Lexan, and rear cover and scoop fabbed up from somethin' else... This is a very old thread - chassis was sold over 5 years ago, I think. Have fun!

Found this thread looking for the history on this thing, I found the crawler on Ebay and now own it , loved to see how it was built, I still run the rig daily and as far as I can tell most parts are original except the electronics
