Shortcut to receiver box

Is there a short cuht for getting into the stock receiver box? Without tearing the whole damn chassis down? See, I broke my stock servo and I am putting another stock one in (I want a 7990th, but I need to save up a bit) I have a stocker laying around from the dingo that ate my baby....so that is what is going in for the time being...

My question is - is there a shortcut for getting into the reciever box? Any help is appreciated in full...

Not that I have found. You need to remove the cross bar that goes over the top of box (4 screws). I trimmed the corners of my side panels off so that I could get the side screws out with unscrewing the side panels.

Ha!!!!! I knew that header would get your attention :) thanks man...if anyone else has a shortcut let me know.

Also - I looked a bit but was this covered anywhere else? I don't want to be that guy.....

I don't think it really has been covered yet, just a handful of people cursing that damn bar. I moved my RX box to the rear now so I have eliminated my cursing.

Hehehe, ok, I am going to do the same too soon...I want 4ws in the worst way....I want to do two 7990ths (overkill, I know) so I am starting to source parts for this...I had hoped axial or vp would have a combo pack or something to make it easy for me to do this but it's starting to look like I will have to read and pay attention to what I buy.

i just bought a replacement steering servo also. the stock one good while it lasted (3 weeks)
i just un did the screws on the bottom of the box then slid it so i could get the 2 back screws on the lid.

i got a spektrum 8000 for a servo. i am new to the RC thing so i hope this one is good.

Didn't think it was that hard? 4 screws for the hood, a few out the bottum of the rx box. slide it out and I believe 2 to open the receiver box. I don't remember if I took the 1 screw out for the esc mount.

guys thanks for all the replys with a simple issue. I appricate, of course, the kind replys and help.

as for the actual issue, i only asked because it seems that the cross member contecting the shocks and rails looked like it needed to come out for this to work smoothly...based on your replies it does seem that i am taking more apart than i needed to. so, i will look again and see if i cant do this without dropping the whole damn box off the rails and xross member.

That cross bar is 4 screws, about 40-60 seconds worth of wrenching slow. Not a huge deal. Takes longer to put the RX box back together than that simple cross bar.

I used 4 drops of tire glue on the rim to hold the rubber gasket on.

x2 no need to fight it.

The gasket isn't an issue for me now. CA works good. It's stuffing all the wires, BEC and RX in there without letting wires get pinched. Sucker has no room left.
