Chino63's Wraith

I got my Wraith a couple days ago, so excited!:ror:

Anyhow, so far, the mods are minimal and of the usual variety so I won't bother with pics. Installed some MT Claws on XR10 wheels, lowered it a bit, installed a tekin RS with 17.5 brushless for now (stock gearing), better steering servo and made a tie rod.

On to the more interesting mod, the install of a winch. With all the plastic tubing on the front as well as the axle mounted servo, there wasn't much room for a traditionally mounted winch so I decided to try something a bit different. With the track width of the axles being wider, there's more room in the wheel well area so that's where the winch will reside. So far it works great. My fairlead is a Traxxas rod end.

First things first, I made a mounting plate out of an Axial battery plate from my SCX10. The front of the plate is secured with a couple zip-ties.

The top is bolted to the shock tower and the bottom to one of the chassis bolts. I made a small spacer from plastic with one end fish mouthed to take up the gap between the plate and the tube.

You can see the tire rubs a bit but its not going to hurt anything. I will probably reposition the winch more forward on the plate to avoid the interference.

Also made a rear plate to mount a shackle on to the axle.

Interesting winch placement! I have a winch for mine and I'm wondering where to put it.
