Got mine installed and wired up last night.Useing a 60 tooth gear from the Duratrax nitro evader and a 13 tooth pinion. Fits under the gear cover and all. Need to reverse the ring gears today so I can air it out a little. Running on 3s, MMP with 40* advanced timing set to come on at 19000 RPM. Just holding it in my hand and stabbing the trigger.....tires grow quite a bit Cant wait to run it later with the trigger squeeze actuall making it run forward

60 fits under the cover?, I thought a 58 would be close. Damn, now I have to make another order. I'll add it when I order HD ring and pinion. Mine are showing substantial wear and I doubt they'll make it another weekend of camping.

Well a 58t spur from a Traxxas Jato rubs on the cover. It has some raised bosses on the back that space it too far from the transmission. One could get creative to make it work, but it's not a bolt on deal.

I use it an have no problem on a axial Trans. Are you running a slipper?

Yes it was with a slipper clutch. Wouldn't take much, but a gear like the Duratrax or univeral one seems like a better idea.

Also here's a vid of 3300kv pro4 motor on 2s witn mmp. Seems close to the 7.5 scx4.

Swapped the Scx4 motor back in for back to back testing. The Pro 4 felt smoother on low end, but doesn't have the top end. Not sure where timing needs to be as the Team drivers are listing very minimum timing on short course setups.

Can you try it on 3s? I think it would come alive. My SC4x on 2s is pretty weak. I have a Pro 4 on order....hope it comes soon. What spur/pinion combo do you have in that video? Is it 11/58?

Tried 4s with same results. Pro4 almost seems like it doesn't advance the timing. At least that's about the speed difference. Gear 11/56.

7lb 11oz without batteries and the sc4x installed . A bit of weight in the wheels, but wow.

Haven't had much seat time with the Pro4 yet. But the other weekend I ran countless 2s 5000mah packs and 4s 1750mah packs with the sc4x motor. Never getting too hot to touch, but warm at times.

Tekin responded with run low timing on the Pro 4's, for more top end, gear up. Have to do some more testing I guess.

ok I saw this thread and got to wondering... So i yanked my scx4 5.5 turn motor and rx8 out of my short course 4x4 and went to work.. I was told i was stupid and it will be way too fast, but I am happy to report, It's awesome! I got about 20 min of testing today and the torque is unbelievable. I'm geared 58 14 (32 pitch) running 2s with no advance timing, for starters. the low speed was good and it crawled well. the top speed was just about equal to a stock one(we raced side by side) but mine took off like a bat out of hell and pulls a big lead off the start. I was really impressed, motor temps only got to about 103 so I have room for adjustments, lots of possibilities...

Well, I played with the 7.5 for a while now. Happy with the motor endbell set at 0 degrees and esc timing about 40. Forgot about motor timing till a week ago and it was about 10, which explained the faster forward and slower reverse. I'll have to try the pro 4 at 40 degrees for an accurate comparison as it's a fix endbell. Been through about 5 stock drivelines, I keep twisting the crosses out of them.

I just got mine in my rig yesterday. All i had was a 17t pinion. Way to fast. Mine is the sc4x. What setting on your MMP makes for the best crawling

For the speed controller, I runned sensored only, cheat mode. With timing starting at around 5000 and ending around 20000 rpm. Auto lipo detect so I can run from a 2s to 4s lipo without changing anything. Drag brake is user preference, mine's 5 or 10. Too much and it flips when letting off the throttle over jumps.

Well Ive been tryin to tune my truck and My sc4x and MMM all at once. Hopin to have some video this evening. My build is a hybrid wraith/scx10 so its in the 2.2 scale forum. Im going to try a 14t pinion tonight. Should level out smoothness on bottom. Ill plug in the setting you have to. Thing is is I didnt have no castle bullets so I used plain ol 4mm bullet conectors to connect my motor to esc. It mentions that they should be copper so resistance is low. Im getting a little cogging while turning while barely crawling. That may need changed.

Good thread here, especialy for a horse power junkie like me. Why to much power to handle people ask????? Because Im a junkie, lol.

Well the pro4 with 40 degrees timing runs great too. Installed a 60t duratrax spur and it lasted 20 seconds doing wheelies on the concrete in a 8lb overweight scx10 scaler.
