Default Wraith Gear noise

Sorry, maybe this is a newbie question, but after running about 5-6 packs through my wraith, i take it out this evening and there is a noticeable amount more "gear noise" than yesterday. Is that normal after the gears start to wear a little and break in?

The noise seems to be coming from engine/trans area and does it on the ground under load, and makes the same noise in the air. I would almost consider the noise normal, but knowing that it was quieter yesterday has me wondering. The noise starts at a very low speed and seems to get louder as it goes.

Any help or ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I have noticed a noise coming from mine after the 4th or 5th pack through mine. It mostly happens on down slopes when off the gas. Kinda like a driveshaft going out on a 1:1.

You either have a motor going out or you damaged your spur gear.

sounds like you're pinion set screw came loose and walked into the spur if you doncheck it out and continue to run it..and thats the problem itll eat up your spur.. that set screw will eat a spur up in a few blips of the throttle

Pinion and spur look perfect, set screw was nice and tight. When i had it apart i removed the spur gear so i could hear just the motor run. Seems loud, but i dont really have much to compare it to.

Put it all back together and ran a 3800mah 2s pack through it with no issues, just loud. Guess i will keep running it and wait to see if its actually the motor.

Any suggestions for a replacement motor that has basically the same speed and crawlability as stock? Not really wanting to go any slower or faster, im happy with where it is, just want it reliable on 2s. I've read quite a bit, but most motor swaps either are for more speed or more crawl it seems. Wanting to keep the stock esc for now.

Thanks for the help.

Josh and I are gonna go with either Holmes hobbies 25turns or stay in the 19 to 20 turn range.
