Tekin RS w/ Castle BEC Trinity Duo3 17.5 w/ high torque rotor (was heavily raced in a SC truck) 15/87 gearing Various 3 cell lipos Very smooth on the low end with more than enough torque to destroy parts, and plenty of wheel speed for trails. This setup ran very cool all sumer long with no problems. Overall I have been very happy with it. |

Hows the HH 35t Torque Master Expert working with the factory esc?? What gear ratio would work best for this? I have mine weighted down so keep that in mind! Thanks Dan |

Novak Rock Star 35 turns. C/C BEC. Axial Stock RTR TX, RX. 18/80 pinion & spur gears Zippy 2s 4400-30c hardcase. Rigged up with the cheap stuff for a beginner, but average rock crawl time per week is 2 1/2 to 3 hours, for @ the past six months! |

Mine is a pretty common set up but what the hey I'll post it up.. I've tried many different combos and this one is definitely #1 for this rig. Castle MMP esc paired with a CC 10a bec @ 6.8v (Cheat mode- running around 15° boost timing @ 17-30k rpm I believe, have to double check those settings) Tekin Redline 13.5t sensored brushless motor- geared 80/13 Hitec HS-5998tg Servo 3s 4000mah 25c Traxxas Lipo Controlled by a Fly Sky GT3B (possibly switching to my DX3S soon to run a winch) For water/mud running- Traxxas Titan 21t 550 brushed motor on 4s lipos. It still rips with this combo, just not as wicked as the boosted set up on 3s. I don't see why people need a 4 Pole pro4, this 13.5 on 3s has plenty of drivetrain breaking, smooth crawling torque. With the boost it provides just as much top speed, while staying geared low, allowing longer runtimes than the 4 pole would.. I guess overkill is the cool thing though ;) Last edited by FreakyT333; 11-08-2012 at 03:02 PM. |

The torque is much better as well. The advantages are there and are clear after running one. Just expensive to maintain something with all of that behind it.

I'm used to my big 1/8 5&6s powered brushless MT's & Truggy so i'm no stranger to serious 4 Pole power, just doesn't seem like this Wraith is lacking without it.. I should weigh mine though, its probably in the 6-7lb neighborhood fully loaded..
