Well, pretty much messed this paint job up... :x

Got the white out I had on the shelf and didn't realize it was paint for plastic, not lexan... so I looked around and found a can of copper that had enough left in it. Should have just ran to Hobby Town and gotten white. It looks pretty much like butt. lol

I think if I paint the outside of the lexan in white it would look a lot better. Then the copper would look a little like rust when it scratched (maybe). :oops:

Looks really sweet with the copper. I know what you mean i got 2 coats of red on my panels and looked at the can it was for plastic not lexan LMAO!
Im so using those pins for the hood, im running the battery up front and i had to take the screws out all the time, i used zip ties and mocked up some hinges, hey it works :)

If you have the battery up front, hood pins are the only way to go. "thumbsup"

Not much room for the rear servo without removing a few things... I ended up removing the stock lower brace in the rear, cutting the rear legs off of it past the shock mounts and reinstalling. I cut it there so I could retain the front half of the battery box to help reinforce the frame and shock mounts. I will probably end up getting new rear shock mounts to match the front, but until then this should work...

I have not had a chance to drive it on real terrain yet, but the basement floor test looks promising... :ror: First off, The VP CMS/Panhard kit is absolute quality. Great machine work as usual, and fairly straight forward to install. On my Wraith, which is lowered (and far from stock in general), the panhard bar bottoms on the axle truss before the shocks do. Keep in mind I am not running stock shocks or front shock mounts. I do think I can get a little more clearance freed up with a little more finagling. Beside that, everything works great. I also used VP's new 3/16" steering setup on the front as well to gain a bit of clearance. I moved the older style 1/4" steering setup to the rear.

As far as rear steer goes, I am really excited about it. I played with mixing it with the front servo and just using it independently of the front servo. For now, I am using it independently for a few reasons... First I think I will prefer to drive "default" with front steering only. Second, when I need rear steer, I think I will want it independent of the front. This may change, however as I get more use to it... just need some wheel time with it. So, for now, I set up my dx3r two work two ways with it. One switch is linear, the other is 3-position. That should give me a few options for the time being. As far as maneuverability, it is unbelievable. It will literally turn around a coke can. :shock: (New body isn't installed yet)

Works really well. Out of the box the panhard bar did bottom on the top of the housing before the shocks did. I am running custom front shock mounts and shocks though (lowered stance). I am working on a way to get the panhard to clear at the moment. Even with the extra work to get it to clear in my application, I would definitely buy again. "thumbsup"

As far as performance wise I also think it really tightened up the front end a bit and the travel seems a lot smoother than it did with a 4-link.

As far as looks, it is one of the best upgrades to do to clean up the front of the Wraith. It also goes a long way in protecting expensive servo's and even bracing the front end a little more.

Thanks for the info that was what I was looking for. Someone that had ran it stock and then added the kit. I do like the idea of protecting the servo and the look the kit provides. I'm probably going to use some Proline Slash shocks and flip the shock mounts to lower the height of my wraith.

How is your torque and crawling with the tekin motor I really want one but I need to be able to crawl so I can compete in our ultra 4 crawling events. What motor did you have prior to the tekin? I love my mmp took a little setup but a great speed control!!

I have not ran it yet because my soldering iron bit the dust this past weekend and I haven't gotten a replacement. I will hopefully have an update by this weekend though. "thumbsup"

Torque on a Pro4 3300 is unbelievable. Very smooth on low end and way more than enough torque. Speed is also very good.

With the servo being mounted on the chassis does it affect the turning when the wraith is flexed out? Just seems like it would put more stress on the servo when flexed a certain way?

There are no ill side effects when using the vanquish CMS (chassis mounted servo) and Panhard kit together... It will turn lock to lock no matter how it flexes. "thumbsup"

The trick to a proper 3-link setup is for the panhard bar (solid mounted to chassis and axle) to travel on the exact same radius as the drag link (servo to knuckle). When the geometry is right there will be no binding and/or "bump steer". Vanquish got their geometry spot on with this kit, and to my knowledge they are the only ones with a full CMS/Panhard kit available at the moment. 8)

I really hope you get a replacement soldering iron soon. I am very anxious to read what your review is the MMP and Pro4 set up at low speed. I've got three builds that all need basically the same performance and I haven't bought any motors or sped controllers yet because I want to make sure if I buy three the same they will all perform every action desired for crawl and speed. Thanks!! Oh and when you do get everything soldered up do you have capability of shooting a video of the motor esc?

I ordered some CorrosionX yesterday for some cheap electronic insurance from water. I also have a set of Pitbull XOR's with DosP. foams on their way. I love the traction and looks of the Prolines, but their sidewall and bead leave a lot to be desired... Oh, and the new rear servo came in as well... Hitech M7990TH :shock:

I will have everything I need today. Should have time tomorrow to sit down and get it running. I will make sure to take some video to show how it does. I can't wait to see how smooth the pro4 is myself... "thumbsup"

Proline slash. I run the long version (rear slash length) on the front and short version (front slash length) on the rear. Many run all shorts or all longs as well. It all depends on how you have your shock mounts set up. ;-)

What combo did you put up front (ring/pinion) and rear (ring/pinion)?

Sorry, I had a couple of directions to go and was curious on your set up.

Only used them with RC4wd Baja Claw tires, but they held those fine. They will narrow the width over the stock wheel offset. Look back at my pictures to give you more of an idea. I no longer have them, so I can't measure them for you. The ring and pinion set I am using are the under-drive set. I am using them both front and rear.

I'm thinking of either underdriving the rear or overdriving the front for a little front wheel speed to help on climbs and turning.

For crawling that is a good combo. 4WS (for me) alleviated the need for over-driving the front. I also prefer the same ratio for running at speed on the trail. "thumbsup"

Got some done this evening...

I stripped out all the old electronics, de-cased the new electronics and dunked them in CorrosionX. I also got the new shoes mounted up and began laying out the electronics in the chassis...

Everything should be dry and ready to re-assemble tomorrow. 8)
