Just picked up a used Wraith slider.

I happen to have a Holmes BLE and a Tekin redline17.5 sensored....

Will this work on 3s I'm assuming stock trans gears, I run the HD bevel gears stock front UD rear.

It will work...i ran a mmp and the gen 1 tekin redline 17.5 on 3s power in my 1.9 wraith without issue, i did end up dropping the pinion down a couple teeth in the long run

I'm looking at running a set of 2.2's, I've run that combo on my R1 without issues

My suggestion is the 56t Gen3 metal spur and slipper setup from Robinson racing. To run this setup you will also need to buy a Traxxas slipper rebuild kit, all you will use from this kit is a black spring and a lock nut though. )

Does anyone know which Traxxas slipper rebuild kit, should I run on my SuperShafty top shaft with 56T Gen2 metal spur? Please let me know the part numbers. Thank you

Two words to remember....
Puller Pro.
I loved my Tekin 17.5, but this motor running through the Holmes BLE is a Monster!
Simply put, keep the roc412 at home when this motor is out. Fits perfectly no trimming, running through a bombproof trans with the RR slipper and 32p
The Super Shafty beefy top shaft came complete with nut and spring and the RR slash 2wd gen 3 slid on

What do you have that geared at?

I just fried another motor in my Wraith and looking for a good combo that will stay cool.

Currently running 4WS and 2.2 Rock Beasts.

56/12
For 4s the 2700 is the way to roll, the 2200 shines on 6s

I'm curious what your thoughts are about gearing in my wraith
hobbywing 1080
power hobby 35t
ebay special axles
2.2 deep woods
currently I'm running 32p 58t spur gear and a 16t 32p pinion which puts my ratio at 3.6....seems to be getting awfully warm.....I mostly do trails and crawling...going to a 14t 32p puts me at 4.2 and a 15t puts me at 3.8.....what do you think?

p.s. running 2s lipos

So you like this one over the Tekin motors? I am not sure which motor was the top of the line at Tekin but it looked like the ROC412 HD. I am getting to purchase my motor and Mamba Max Pro Extreme and was looking at the ROC412... until now

p.s. running 2s lipos
I would drop to a 11t pinion to get the ratio higher which will help keep temps down, also going up to a 3s lipo will help as well. You need to keep the ratio between 5 and 6:1 for the wraith motor to be happy

Some prefer the roc in a bit lower KV 3300, others like the Puller Pro in 2700kv. I've geared my 3500 at 10/56 and love it. Great wheelspeed , but can just creep at will.
The new roc is a 550 can, and that is fat..... may need some minor trimming
The Tekin I referred to is a two pole motor, not a torque monster

CRAP! I am holding up on what I buy, I do not know what the KV ratings mean or the two polo vs ??? I want to get me a bad ass motor but don't want to drop coin and find out I cannot crawl when I want but I want high end speed when I want it. I currently have Holmes Hobbies 35T motor and the high end speed is not desirable to me. I need a "caddie" for my build

Lower Kv is lower speed, running the same battery.
2 pole vs 4pole is speed vs torque. For crawling on 3s a 4 pole 2700 to 3500 is perfect. Drop Holmes a pm ant they will recommend the proper KV .
My 3500 is geared way down, as it is faster than I need, might be what you want

I didn't see if it were posted anywhere so I'll ask.

Option 1
Will a 32p 64t spur fit using a 10t pinion? I'm planning on running a motor with a 5mm output shaft. So a 10t pinion is as low as they go.

Option 2
Is a steel HR spur I have that's a 61t. I'm pretty sure it'll fit as it fit my Bomber tranny and there were several here using a 60t. But I'll need to drill the slipper plates to bolt it on.

Option 2 is viable and I can make it work right now. Option 1 would get the gearing real low if it'll fit. I have a sensorless 3660 in 2600kV on order and I'd need to order the 10t 5mm pinion. $20 for the can I figured I'd give it a whirl. My other Wraith is doing great with a HW1080 and Traxxas 550. So I thought I'd experiment some with my other one.

Why do you want a spur that big? Just select a spur/pinion combo that gets you in the range of that 5.1 up to 6.1 ratio.

I run 32P 57 spur (metal) and 10 tooth pinion. 5.7:1 ratio. (3s LiPo)

The 32p 64tooth Yeti spur will fit. I have it and a 12tooth pinion with a 5mm shaft long can motor. It was a tight fit and I ended up having to trim my gear cover a little bit at the hump over the output shaft.
