| There are threads on those shocks, probably better luck there than in the motor thread.

There both close to the same price, so I figured just keep my options open. Might use it in a different vehicle later on.

I'm still learning about crawling but I can comment with certainty about the Tekin stuff. The RX8 is a very robust ESC but honestly for this application the MambaMax Pro is better suited and much cheaper. Also the Castle permits/has the capability of programing with a pocket sized card(No PC required) Between the RS/Pro and the RX8, the RSP will efficently run the pro4 3300kv on 3s in a crawler/Wraith application with no problem and the RX8 is serious durability insurance but with that comes excessive weight and footprint. Both have very capable internal BEC's where as the MMP is prone to be a little weak. |

Was thinking, I have a Novak 4.5T 550 Ballistic on 2s I want to try. I tried this motor in an E-Maxx with a MMP on 2s and the truck did close to 20mph. Great power. So curious to see what it would be like. But use an RX8.

Suggestion for gearing? I am putting in a Tekin 35T, and using the stock ESC, using only 2S lipos. Only going to use it for trail running, would like to be able to crawl slowly, yet have enough top end for a brisk walking pace. Is that possible with this combo? I have upgraded the servo and put beadlocks on-8oz in the fronts and 4oz in the rears. Thanks |

Try just bumping up to a 84 spur, stock pinion.

I have yet to assemble the first screw in my Wraith and I'm trying to figure out the gearing, I plan to run a 3100kv Sensored motor on 2s and with the 32P spur and pinion. Heres what I'm looking at, Not sure if this estimated top end speed to much or not enough ?? Differential Ratio: 2.923076923076923 Transmission Ratio: 2.6 Other Ratio: 1 Spur Tooth Count: 58 Pinion Tooth Count: 25 Total Voltage: 7.40 Motor KV: 3100 Tire Diameter (inches): 5.0 Tire Ballooning (inches): .10 Motor Current Draw: 0 Motor Coil Resistance: 0 Spur/Pinion Ratio: 2.32 : 1 Total Ratio: 17.632 : 1 Tire Circumference (inches): 16.34 inches (414.94 mm) Rollout: 0.93:1 Total Motor Speed: 22940 RPM Vehicle Speed: 20.13 mph (32.33 km/h) Effective KV Value: 3100 KT constant: 0.44 oz-in/A Motor Torque: Amperage not specified... Final Torque: Amperage not specified... Final Power: Amperage not specified... |

58/25 is way too high of a gear ratio IMO.

I'm new to crawling so 20mph was "crawling" for me. What kind of speeds should I be looking for, gonna need some wheel spin and speed for hill climbing ? |

| Rarely does anyone in crawling relate to things in actual MPH. Plugging things into a calculator like that is a rare practice. A 3100 KV motor is going to be fast so I would gear down. I would go in the 60/15 or 60/12 range to start.

I want a little speed from this thing because I plan to bash and climb/crawl. I'll heed your advice and start lower with 62/22 BC thats what I have in hand right now. Thanks H. | |
