Thanks manI'm a total rookie when it comes to filming & editing, but it is fun. Makes me want to go crawl some more. On a side note, my universals from RPP will be here tomorrow, & that should be the last thing I need for 4ws |

Went out bashing today & shot some video. The Wraith took a beating on this trip, but there was no carnage. Check it out............ |

I finally found the time to my rig back together & get the 4ws setup installed. It seemed like it had been sitting there in pieces since the last beatdown. I got it all buttoned up yesterday, & since it wasn't raining, I headed out to Broken Dam for a shakedown run. First off, there is definitely a learning curve with 4ws. It handles way differently now, & I ended up on my lid a few times because the rig did something I wasn't expecting. Overall though, 4ws is bada$$ I did notice my servos having a hard time turning or centering themselves when the rig was in a bind. It was mostly the rear, but the front did it too. The BEC pro is set at 6V. Is there a maximum input voltage on servos? If I bump it up to say 7V, will I get more turning power, or do I risk burning up my servos? I also got to try out the Crawler Innovations DD foams that I installed during this rebuild. They work so much better than the Proline memory foams I was using. Tire stability is much improved. I would definitely recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their foams. After less than an hour of running, my motor was smoking hot. The 32p 15t/60t spur has always been tight, but it never got this hot. I have some different pinions & a new motor plate on the way. Anyway, here's some vid of my first experience with 4ws http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?...z8G6U249A1Pq4I Edit: for some reason, it's not letting me embed the vid, so there's the link Last edited by slickwillie; 03-07-2012 at 01:20 PM. |

If you put the rear steer on a 3 position switch you may find it can help much more than when run simultaneously with the front. Gorgeous truck. |

With the 4PL, I can switch on the fly between 3 steering modes. I just need more practice knowing when to switch | |

So far the best practice I've seen and done is with a 3 way switch. A lot more control than either crab or mirroring the rear servo. 90% of the time you need no rear steer, gets you in trouble more often than not.

yup the 4pl makes it easy to control de rear stear on the fly but your right you need to practice to know what does what without having to look at the screen all the time |

4ws is great.. what percent do you have your rear steering set at? With my 4pl i have it set at 20%. So it takes five clicks to get it at full turn left or right. It makes me drive slower and helps me keep it on all 4 wheels. Once i get better i might change it to 30%.

It's just the stock 30wt. I love going to this place. Even though it's always the same rocks, there always seems to be a new line to try.

Thanks Muddy. I had a few screws strip out of my VP wheels too. I ended up cutting a slot in the screw head & using a flathead screwdriver to get them out. Give that a try |
