Thanks guys! I am LOVING this rig! Well this weekend was the real trial run, on some very hard and very unforgiving rock! I am glad it lasted through the race! I definately need to build some doors of some type, I did find out that right behind the current "tube door" where the bed side mount against the chassis, became a hangup spot on the rocks, so Ill need to get some built. But I am loving this rig! The more I drive it, and tweak it, the more I love it! here is a couple pics from the race on sunday: Not bad as far as the race goes, I got 2nd in class, 2nd overall ALMOST had you NaZ-T!!!! I spent too much time on gate 98!!!!! MAN, I LOVE these events!!!! |

Its been a while since I last updated this thread I've been doing some minor work/tweaks/changes to the rig, the biggest one I had to do was trim the rear panels. The rear tires were rubbing on the "fenders" of the side panels. So I trimmed them down. I also stripped the paint, and re-painted the fenders. And added my sponsors The more I looked at the rear lights, the more I didnt like it. So I made new panels, and put it back to 1 light per side. Then I still have enough for when I do my light bar as well. With the help of NaZ-T I got the windshield supports put in and done. I am still working on door panels of some type. I found that the back panels like to reach out and grab the rocks in certain places, so I want to make some door panels to help them from being rock grabbers. onto the pics: not the best, since the lighting was all screwed up, but pics none the less. Thanks man! I got some more stuff I wanna do to this, only a matter of time Going to re-work the hood so it looks better, rather than having that big hole between the cowl, and the lower bar. |

Hello?? COCO, where are you? I think it looks better now that you re-trimmed the flare on the bed. (I think I'll be removing all the flares on my toy) I think you need a set of Chaotic Crawler ti-links that way you'll quit breaking rod ends |

| Re: COCO's Wraith - Now HILUX'd
haha, Sorry kinda been neglecting this thread a bit!! Since I last updated this thread, I got Kyle L (Wheels) to make me a custom aluminum top for the wraith. As I strive to try and be as out-of-the-box I can be with this thing, I had him add a nice touch to the roof to make it my own After several fun runs, and racing and hardly ever breaking a 3mm rod end, just recently on a fun run out at lil moab, I broke 3 in one day....As I really got sick of that in a hurry, I got talking with Kyle to see what a custom set of links would run me. We threw some ideas around and talked about it long and hard, and as much as I would LOVE to have a set of custom links, I just couldnt justify them at this time. So, I called up Chaotic Crawlers and got a set of there 4mm High Clearance TI rods. Those were bolted up in a hurry (night before Moab might I add) and have taken everything I have thrown at them down here. I also found a weak link (no surprise) in the stock plastic Chubs, and knuckles. So I ran up to WVH and picked up a set of the STRC chubs and knuckles for the front axle (see's the most abuse) so I will use those stock ones as spares for the rear. I had a set of the Proline Batteries sitting on my bench for a while, and finally got around to getting them in. I also called up Low Range Off-Road and got a nice brace for the batteries (not fully "assembled") but enough to keep the Yellow Top Optimas in check for Moab. Also while trying to separate myself from the crowd, I grooved the SX's (just before st george...told you its been a while!!) to improve traction. Some other changes like new foam, and less weight in the front tires followed soon after st geezy. While I was here in Moab, a couple guys from Axial Wraith Fan Page, and Ultimate RC Desert Race (on FaceBook) setup a trail run up Moab Rim. Great bunch of guys, had a lot of fun and cant wait to meet up with them again. While dinking around camp, I ended up stripping out a plastic trans gear, and figured my weekend was over, but today Steve (Rocklizard) had an AX10 one that we customized and made work. Thanks again Steve!! We had some fun out at PSH for an hour or so before we moved on to much more exciting activities!! As much as I am loving the look of the toyota panels, I am thinking I will need to find a new solution on making them work. Cracked them in a couple places I have noticed after some good rolls, so I will need to start working on a solution to that as well. That is it for now. |

I heard a rumor that you've made even more changes recently. All I have to say is... PROVE IT!!! I'm still going to need you to step up your game. I can't be having you being the weak link in "team tuna" |

So I have been working on these for a while: Also over the weekend, I rebuilt the bed skins, and braced them up hopefully a LOT better this time. Broke them twice while I was in Moab. Last edited by Going Up!; 04-16-2012 at 03:16 PM. |

| Re: COCO's Wraith - *Now w/ WORKING bumpstops!* Yup, the bump stops I am a little worried about, but I need to tweak a couple things, but I think they should be good. But ultra4 is the ultimate test for sure! I think the bed should last this time around, it is braced up pretty good.

How do you like the TSL's? I have some sitting here and I'm debating putting them on or sending them back. Do you notice a big difference in clearance with them? I'm mainly crawling so that's what I'm concerned about

I would love to have these tires be bigger, or if Proline would make some "newer" model tires that are about a 1/2-1" taller and newer that are licensed (Maxxis Trepedors, or Creepy Crawlers, or BFG Krawlers) but they work AWESOME!! I LOVE mine. Great tire.
