Default slipper clutch on the wraith

What's up fellas are you guys using the slipper clutch on the wraith and if so how tight do you have it. Cause I was toying around outside with my son and his wraith and I was trying to go up his new swing set slide and it was trying to go up not moving the tires just spinning the motor. Thanks

+1 I had mine come undone during a comp... was able to limp through the rest of the course, but cranked it down tight and had a good run on the second course without issue.

I crank mine all the way down, then back it off between a quarter and a half turn... I don't think it's actually slipped yet though. But I figure that's as close to locked as I will need.

Put mine pretty tight as well. I think a couple threads where beyond the nut.

I have it cranked-down, and then loosened it one turn. Does work for me. Oddly enough it slips more when it gets wet, but it dries pretty quick through the heat generated by the friction.

I crank mine down alway until the spring is compressed and then back off half a turn. I too was having problems climbing cause the slipper would let it slip and it aggravated me lol. When i done mine i took the nut all the way off and used some locktite. The one on my stampede 4x4 was famous for backing off so i done the same to it. I used the blue on my wraith though but put red on the pede

Thanks guys for the Info I tighten my slipper clutch all the way down and gave it a 1/4 turn out. So today and did some crawling around my house cause I'm trying to do a back yard scale course for me and my son now and the Wraith worked flawlessly.

This is some good information right here. I had my slipper WAY too loose during my first run today and it was quite annoying. Unfortunately I have to pull the cover to adjust it, so I couldn't adjust it at the beach. I'll try 1/4 turn and see how it goes.

I tighten mine all the way. It still slips in a hard bind but otherwise works perfectly.

@Metal Nut. There is an access hole on the dust cover. Just pop that cover and slip in the wrench. A little awkward, but less tear down. Can leave the tranny and motor on the baseplate.

As for the slipper, I usually run mine real tight. If I want a "safe" setup for my motor, I tighten it all the way, then loosen it as I try to turn the driveshaft by hand. Once I get it loose enough to slip, I turn it back in an extra turn. This seems to hold well, but slip in binds.

But, for serious crawling, I just tighten it up and take it easy on the motor by not giving continual power when bound up.

Yeah in the process of getting my tranny out right now got into a decent bind and gave it some throttle..thought it would pop out but, the slipper said " ehh, no thanks!"
