| 1st time building kit wraith question
well like the topic says, this is the first time building,,and i have a question...i assembled the front and rear axle, front went together fine, the rear on the other hand has been driving me crazy...i am getting what sounds like the gear rubbing on the axle housing(pumpkin)if i turn it slow it sounds like the teeth are hitting it?(a clicking)..ive searched and searched the internet and forum and i cant find anything on a fix...is this normal?will the plastic wear down? or am i just overlooking something?... ive taken it in and out so many times now im almost tempted on leaving it |

I had the same issue, but it turned out to be that on the short side of the axle, there was clearance issues once the rear lock out was snugged down. Basically the rear lockout was jamming the short shaft into the ring gear making a tight mesh. I read up on it, and apparently the short shaft is out of spec on a lot of kits. My solution was to drill the ring gear a little deeper where the short shaft seats. |

I had the same issue with the stub axle. Just shoot axial an email. They are sending out replacement stubs for the kit. |

I had the same problem as well. I found an old post about it. I ground the flange down on the shaft instead of drilling out the ring gear. I'm using an aftermarket locker that locks down on the shafts. Rear axle short shaft issue? |

but i pulled the axle apart....again... relieved pressure from the stubby side of the axle and the sound of teeth on teeth and binding minimized, still hear the sound of the teeth when i spin it but its a lot quieter and it doest feel like its sticking on each tooth as it rotates | |

i found that if i overtightened the bearing caps it made it bind up.. i backed the screws off a tad and it sounded/felt better. |
