Default Project: The Bigg Show/ Axial Wraith kit build.

so i started this project about two months ago, took one of those months just to get it to the point that it would move on its own power. spending only a few late nights a week i have it to the point its at now. i know this kit is a so-called rock racer, but i wanted to see a crawler done on this platform. this will be one of those endless builds and will be upgraded every chance i get.

the kit-

losi 2.4 GHz DSM mrx-3000 reciever/ radio

traxxas 2075 waterproof servo

axail ae-2 esc with drag brake

integy 75 turn motor

deans plugs for the motor

rtr body skins

stickers/ decals-

diffs built

axles built

shocks built

drive shafts built

i hate gearboxes, and the grease

gearbox done, motor mounted

interior done in black and tan

wheels that came with kit are glue tire to wheel type, went with beadlocks instead
axail rockstar's

cut and trimmed tire foams

wheels and tires mounted

deans plugs done

axail ax-10 aluminum lower links

i used those on the lowers and the aluminum lower links that came with the kit and used them for top links, this streched the wheel base about 3/4 of an inch.
lower half of chassis done

tube chassis mounted to lower half

mounted esc on top of the waterproof reciever box to keep it high and away from the elements

since those build pictures there has been a few changes-
-integy 75 turn motor burnt up, replaced with a tekin 55 turn motor
-traxxas servo gears blew apart, replaced with a unknown high torque metal gear servo
-painted body skins that came with kit, painted candy orange and black
-made a lexan windshield
-made a lexan cargo area/ battery cover
-unknown 5" aluminum shocks
-aluminum diff covers
-aluminum sterring links
-axail led light kit, 4 white 2 red
-axail aluminum driveshaft rings
-axail wheel nut covers/ hubs
-scale roof rack with 4 led off road lights
-Big Show wrestling figurine for driver
-scale beer keg with custom tap in pass. seat, it also holds the 9volt and switch powering the roof lights
-scale custom red solo cup in Big Shows hand
-scale high-lift jack
-scale non working winch
-scale gas can, cooler, tool box, fire ext., shovle, pick axe, sniper rifle, bundge cords

pictures of how it sits-

next up is mounting and painting of this early blazer and adding axail dingo fenders to it, for more of a scale look-

well it took me two nights, instead of the one night i thought it would. anyway the blazer body has been mocked and mounted, all holes have been drilled and headlights and tailights installed. i also cut down the stock front bumper, cut the side hoops off and made a more to scale stinger.

i am liking this body but it is going to cut down my articulation and wheel travel, i might be fabing up some kind of bump stop to keep body rubbing down.
picture time-

might be swapping over to these-

well i spent a few long night getting this done, ran into a few problems, but all-in-all it has came out realy nice. went with the 2-tome, met green on the top and gun metal lowers. used bright silver on the front and rear bumpers, grill, and trim.
taped up the body at 1 am

at 9 am that same morning, paint done

almost done

a few more scale goodies, sleeping bag and bundle of fire wood

painted the beadlocks bright silver

custom fitted a set of axial ax-10 rock sliders from proline onto the wraith

added a hitch that i got off ebay, think it is the first one that seller made

going to use it as a mount for my off-road flag, till i get a scale d-ring

so since i finshed the body up, what better way to show it off, then to head over to our favorite scale wheeling spot.
getting ready (day light pictures make this thing look great IMHO)

^ thank you guys, glad ya like it. as for the body, it is an ebay sellers product.

so i wanted to make a scale r/c for my scale r/c. lol i searched ebay and found a lifted micro machine that would do the job, i added a wire for an antenna and a few small axial stickers to make it official.

also added a few more goodies from proline, shovle, axe and tire tool.

some pics of The Bigg Show and his new little bro-

still going on this one and throwing money at it every chance i get.
ordered some new stickers/ decals in last week, jeep ones are for a new project.

added a few of those stickers.

added a level 3 chassis mount servo kit with panhard.

then since i had the wraith apar, i decided to relocate the electronics. moved the battery to the from firewall and moved the ESC and RX to the rear cargo area. still want to find a better way to mount the stuff in the rear, but zip ties will do for now.

also added some rc4wd d-rigs and a custom from d-ring mount frm an ebay seller.

after a bash in the snow-

snow bashing videos to come!

very small update.
i wanted to put some exhaust pipes on the wraith blazer. so i found a set of yokomo fart tubes for a drifter and made them work. dont think they look bad, does the job.

aslo bought a 3-channel traxxas TX/RX for it, needed something to power my soon to be here winch.

Love your wraith man that body is killer. Love your choice of colors too but cant get past all the hardware holding the grill/tailgate on. Do you have to remove those panels before you can remove the body? I think I would try velcro so you dont see all those bolt heads.

no it all comes off after pulling the wraith front bumper off, i wanted it to be able to take rulls without falling apart. might not be your cup of tea, but i think it looks ok with the small bolts, i dont even notice them that much.
