.700, 1.00, or 1.35 wheel width for VP SLW wheels?

I plan on purchasing some upgrade parts for my wraith kit at Vanquish Products. I will be running the VP C-hubs, knuckles, and maybe Racing Ackerman Steering Arms (are those Racing Ackerman good for higher speeds, or for slow crawling also?) So, I need to know which wheel width SLW wheels should I get, .700, 1.00, or 1.35? Please explain why you chose a particular wheel width. I would like to be at stock wraith width (outside wheel to outside wheel) and still clear the VP C-hubs, knuckles and maybe the Racing Ackerman. TIA.

the .70 are super narrow if you look at my ftoy builf youll see them the 1.35 are close to stock width now what you really need to look at is the hub offset

Re: .700, 1.00, or 1.35 wheel width for VP SLW wheels?

i have the .7 ssz wheels. when i had them mounted on my wraith with vp 350 hubs they worked great. i had strck knuckles and hubs with vp steering links and had plenty of clearance.

i would recommend the wider wheel. 1 inch would be minimum i think the 1.35's would be best. reason for this is because the .7 wheel will make the tire contact patch smaller because of the tire will pooch or dome up since the bead is squeezed in so narrow. the smaller contact patch will cause you to loose traction in some cases. also the wider wheels are alot easier to find foams for. for instance crawler innovations does NOT make a foam for a wheel under 1 inch!

..ah,.ok..thanks for the replies...I read a post by username rojo, that VP SLWs that are 1.35 wide, would require 600 size hubs to clear C-hubs and knuckles...is that true? I don't know if he was talking about the VP C-hubs and VP knuckles though..

Yes that is tru. I have SLW V6 on 600's and I just clear the steering links at full lock.

I have 1" SLW V4s on 475 hubs & have no clearance issues. That's with a VP front end though, don't know about any other setups.

I have a set of SLW 1's (1.35) along with both 350 and 475 hubs ordered and on the way.

I chose the 1.35 wheels over the 1.00 wheels because they are closer to the stock wheel width (approximately 1.65) and there is more internal surface area to add stick on weights too. I will let you know what works best when I get them.

I have SLW V3 .7 with 475 Hubs. Fit's Perfect, but is an Little Bit wider than Stock.
