Default Dinky R/C Tim Cameron "Show time"

Hey there guys and gals! Had a friend ask me to build one of these the other day an decided to make
a build thread for this because this is my first time making a tuber, let alone welding this much.
Hoping to make it look at least 90% identical.

Pics of it so far.

Using the stock Wraith base, with a DDK set up in it and some Wraith dinky links on the axles. 3six seats. 3Racing winch.
Front chassis mounted servo next to the motor, rear servo mounted on the axle.

Welded on the out side GR7 screw mounts, than ground down the chassis.

Than welded on the servo mount and the GR7 inner mounting brackets.

Sorry for the bad pic, but for the inner mouthing brackets, I used some cut off SCX-10 rails.

More pic's soon! Thanks for lookin'!

You better take some advil now...you're in for a major headache with all that tubework! If you can get it 90%...you're doing really well! Go for it! You seem to have a good start. Take your time and get it right. Subscribed to see where this goes.

All things considered..........believe I feel a bit butt hurt and saddened that this build was able to get the "second" shot at getting started with the GR7. Oh well live and learn.

That being said...knock it out of the park Ty!

You are correct sir! This is no longer just a one man show.
The whole family contributes ideas and time to Dinky R/C!

These set-ups are of course just for mock-up, and are just there to stand in,
until the finish product comes along.
You sir, will however, get one of the very first final ones that come off the machine, I can promise you that!

If you're going to build a rock bouncer it might as well be this one. You going to cover up the stuff under the hood with anything?

Yeah....except the 1:1 is built with that big LSX showing through. Hiding the motor and servo might help the look is my point.

If I could maybe fined a model engine that size, but can never fined a 1/10 scale engine.

Well wile everyone was walking in to walls an licking the window from RCC being shut down,
I got some more work done on this buggy.

I needed a substitute for RCC being out an had to fined other websites,
like Pirate4x4's rc thread just to tide me over for my fix!

Here's the pics that got deleted that I had up from last time.

Got the winch plate and servo mounted.

Just enough room for a BIG motor, like a Tekin Redline Brushless

Than made the front end and welded it on.

More pics in a couple hours. Just need to take an post em.

Those are too big. It would be way too wide for the frame.

A 10.5 would be a better Tekin choice. I had a 7.5 in a Honcho and the low end wasn't enough for even those little tires. It will still be faster than you need or can use. Use it with a MMP and have more voltage options too.

I wasn't sure if that was a good speed choice when I picked it so I just went with a happy medium out of the list.

10.5 is still faster then I would normally suggest but Budda drives by brail so I figure he might as well blow something up! A 13.5 is about as fast as I would ever really put in a crawler.

If you want real power though, the Pro4 3300kv is the motor to get. HOSS.

Drive by brail... That is a little harsh, seeing as I pay for what have and I break parts, and laugh. If you can't have fun, why do it.
