| diff grub screw?
Ok, so I'm curious as to what purpose this serves ? Surely its not a drainage hole of some sort ? I can't think of any reason for it being there. Anyone? |

Actually the screws are there to plug the empty holes which are there to allow the same casting to be used for both the front and rear axles.

The housing has those screw holes in the same location on the top and bottom of them. This does allow the same casting to be flipped over and used on the other end of the truck. Marcus |

you have to plug the extra holes on the axle housings. Not any kind of draining, but they are there so you can use one mold to make both axle housings. On the front you use one side and on the rear you use the opposite side. Makes manufacturing cheaper and faster than molding 2 separate parts.
