This showed up a couple days ago. I replaced the steering servo with a 7955TG and BEC set to 6V as well as a spectrum receiver before I even ran it. Changed the connector to Traxxas and figured I'd do the poor man's paint job and paint the outside of the panels. My 5 year old son had fun helping me add stickers I also set the drag to 50% and reverse to 70% just to mess with the ESC and get a feel for it. Over all it works pretty slick. I find it's a little top heave and the links are weak so I'll be upgrading the links and wheels and adding a wee bit of weight. Future mods also include either a BRXL and a 15T hand wound brushed motor or I might just bite the bullet and go 13.5T brushless. I'd like a hint more speed but not too much. Either way I'd like the wraith speed controller for my son's SCX10. |

If you want more speed then the 13.5 is the way to go. The handwound will not increase your speed. My 13t handwound is a little slower than stock.

So I was a little bored and more ambitious than usual this afternoon. Cut the back off of the roll cage and sanded it down and added some CA glue. It feels pretty solid and makes the battery easier to access. Peeled the stock tires off the stock wheels..... Found some web page that said 375 for 10 minutes, turns out 7 minutes is way too long. The outer bead came right off but my wife wasn't impressed with the haze in her kitchen. Used the 8 hole bead locks off my AX10. Installed Chaotic Crawler links last week. Flipped the ring gear and run the motor forward rotation. Added part of the roof I had cut off to fill the gap between the rear body panels. I have some HR sway bars and axial universals on order. Next will probably be some aluminum C's and knuckles, 32 pitch gears and some RRP stuff to beef up the trans. Some proline Interco TSL's would be nice also. Last on the list will be a Tekin 13.5T redline and a RS pro or MMP and a couple 3S batteries. |

Looks good, I like the rear cage, & the green color is pretty sweet too.

How hard was it to shape the cage. Like that? Looks killer

Easy peasy. Used a butane torch and heated it up while slowly bending it until it was where I wanted it. I wedged it in front of the body panel mount until it cooled. This picture shows them a bit better. I used a dremmel with the small round sander to smooth everything out and the thin cutting disk to cut the links off. I also used the small sanding drum to shape the cage that I cut to form around the bottom beams if that makes sense. Last edited by Coops; 01-28-2012 at 07:54 PM. |

Looking nice man. I hope to be getting pictures up of my build soon. I took Harley's advice and went with the 13.5 and mmp. Also a 40c 3s. I is sick with stock 48p and perfect with 32p. Have fun!
