Magnets and Shoe Goo work great.

Hood pins front and back. I love it personally.

With how clean that hood looks without holes I would go the magnet route.

I would also go with the magnets. I have the hood pins, & while it works great, I think I will use magnets when I get a new hood. I would prefer the smooth look without 2 huge pins sticking thru the hood.

Thanks guys. While i was waiting for you all to write back i built a new hood with a grill this time and now i am thinking i well drill the bottom of the grill and have a pin and clip down low so the hood looks smooth. Hey Brian lets go crawling, good weather for the next five days.

Here is my latest hood made of 17 gauge aluminum with a grill and i am thinking that a 4-40 screw at the bottom of the grill with a knurled nut on it that can be taken on or off with your fingers. And maybe some magnets for backup safety.

Nice, that looks really good. Is it gonna be tricky to get to a nut at the bottom of the grill to change out batteries?

You know i have been having so much fun building this car that i haven't jumped it yet to see if i need to move the battery up front. Now its in the back and yes its a brick. I have ran it around the bark dust at full speed and it handles great and corners like a rc10 nitro rig. I guess i need to drive it but then it well get all beat up like the rest of my cars. ugh. But with regards to the pin up front it looks like it well work. Or i could just have a hook there and use a o ring to hold it down. I well have to play with it i guess and maybe make another hood with a lower center grill. It only takes about 1 hour to make a hood so its not a big deal.

I am not going to use the Wriaith for crawling only fast hill climbing and jumping ya da ya da ya da. It is geared high and has a 13.5 Tekin pro 4 brushless motor. I guess time well tell how it jumps.

I just made some ally 'cable clamp' looking devices and clamped these around the top bar of the firewall. Then used two pieces of the parts tree, drilled a small hole and mounted them as posts on top of the original screw holes (that I drilled out). Wack a couple of R clips in and I was good to go.

This was so I could mount my battery in the front.

Will post pics when I'm allowed

I looked at doing the P-Clamp hinge method, and even went and got the clamps, but was just not 100% happy with the idea. I ended up ordering the Allen bolts that are side drilled for body clips used for battery hold downs. I will just slightly enlarge the factory hood holes with a body reamer.

All good ideas but i still would like a torsion bar system under the hood. You would have to use a hood rod to hold it up. The only problem is i don't think i could get the hood up high enougt to change out the battery. Any thoughts on that ????????
