Default Soulo's Wraith... Whoopdee Doo.

Project: "This is gonna take for f*****g ever-mobile"

This is really more for me to just keep track of what I've done to my wraith. Nothing fancy, no impressive two-week build. Just me building up my crawler when and how I can.

So far (eff: 7/17/12)

Vanquish Knuckles
STRC C-Hubs
G-Made GTransition internal spring shocks (thanks to Flight Instrukta)
Axial aluminum links
Savox SC-1256tg servo
Proline Titus beadlocks
Proline Swampers
Deans plugs all around
RRP transmission (one piece diff locker, idler)
battery relocation
home made aluminum steering linkage
exo light bar
hinged hood
cage mod

My build is crap compared to you guys, but hey.... What can I say. Just don't have the skill set.

Some updated pics... New paint job, dremeled off the paint on the bead lock rings, moved electronics around, battery up front, esc up front, radio box in the rear, (something i shouldve done a looooong time ago), added one of Neoakaj's scale sleeping bags, quick styrene jobby on the back plate, aluminum steering linkage, replaced all plastic bushings with metal ones... Hmm... What else, homemade 6 led lightbar behind the bumper, exo lightbar up top, black soft top.... I think that's it? Oh, siped the tires, added RR gears throughout the tranny, and did a reverse paint job on the seats... I.e. black all over with gray highlights....

Not quite bright enough...

Under the hood guts... Lots of lighting wire... I've had so many micro RC's in the past, I just use micro NiMh's to run all my lights.

Alright so I went ahead and did the chop. Added a few different little touches I haven't seen yet.... Could be wrong. But here's a step by step of how I did it. This is definitely the "not an awesome RCC builder like most of you" method but it works for me.... Figured I'd do the run down for people unsure. I know it's been covered, but I was bored, what can I say.

Stock frame:

The tools. A dremel and a heat gun. A 3mm tap and die and some 3mm grub screws.

Begin the mangling.

Heat it up and bend it.

Figured I could use the cut off middle section of the roof for something.

Drill a hole, tap the bent rod, attach grub screw

Shaped the scrap roof piece, tapped, grub screwed.

All that's left to do now is fish-mouth the joints and clean em up. I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Today's work.

RRP one-piece diff locker
RRP steel idler.

Yes, I realize the top shaft is in backwards, thanks.

Beefing up my lightbar with exo parts trees, I found that there are some clips that work perfect as hood hinges as well

She's back runnin.

NIce upgrades and good using parts you have like the little clips for hood hinges.

Dear Robinson Racing Products, Please machine out (under cut) the area on that bottom gear and drill about 6 lightening holes through it!!!!!!!

Looks good, man! I really like what you did with the rear of the cage. Makes a really nice tire carrier back there and definitely something we haven't seen before. Got the 'ol wheel turnin' in my head now.

Thanks man. I was craving that fast-back look, but I didn't wanna do what every one else did (links or just the "pardonmynoob bend" as I call it.)

It's running better than ever. It might be my imagination but the RRP gears feel much snappier.

Next on the to-do... Keep in mind I upgrade based on necessity and budget. Not "bling".

VP front axle housing (holes under the c-hubs are stripped. They've grown like 1/10 of an in inch from all the slop)
MIP shafts (got a bead on a pair from a guy in town for 30 bucks new!)
Fast eddy shim set to remove axle slop until I can upgrade lockers

And then we will go from ther.....

I'm the same way. Haven't had a chance to upgrade for bling yet. Currently in need of a set of c-hubs and kuckles. I screwed one side up installing universals.

The dreaded black licorice twist!

RRP once piece diff gear was too strong.

Next up? MIP's.

Lookin great bro. Axial could start a candy company with all those twisted driveshafts! If you want, the battery hold down screw and body clip out of a stock 4x4 slash make great hood pins for the front of your hood. If you didn't already know
. Keep up the good work
