Default NEW Wraith CV axles being manufactured.

You read it right!
As I type this message, a well known manufacturer is producing a hardened steel CV style for the Axial Wraith. These will be a perfect alternative to the always out I stock Axial universals.
I was lucky enough to be slightly involved in the process and will have a set for testing very soon.. You guys will be second to know the details. The manufacturer will have to be the first to get me results of course.
They might look something like this. I haven't seen them yet either, I am just patiently waiting for their arrival.Name: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1328320924.230659.jpg

Thank god. At first i thought these were similar to hot racing, but they stay the same width all the way up to the end, unlike the junk HR ones.

The picture is a clip from a product he already makes and is not the actual Wraith CVD.. However I can only assume the same quality will be put into the wraith parts as is put into his other products.
He told me tonight that he has one ( the long side ) complete and has to machine the short side ( which he said will be much easier now that he has one done) they will be sent out for heat treating next week.
I'm excited to see and test the finished product.
I'm tired for having to limit my steering through so I don't bind a dogbone.

My steering is already limited (say, halfway on the RTR radio) and my dogbones still bind like hell. to the point where the drive cups are misshapen.

Those ones are made by hot racing and aren't really known for their strength.. The new ones I'm talking about are being made right in the USA by an already well established aftermarket parts manufacturer.
I'd say more but I'm not sure if the manufacturer wants me to at this time.

Ok.. The new axles are in the mail on their way to me for testing.. I'm pretty excited, as I've never been involved in this sort of thing before.
The manufacturer tells me they are a CV style, so they can be rebuilt if needed.
I'm going to put them through their paces in my wraith.. I'm running 21t Traxxas Titan on a MMP with 3s.. Also gonna push my hitec 7954 to its limits of steering to really test the CV's

I'll post the pics here when they arrive..

I hope these work and come out soon for public release. I snapped a stock dogbone axle than put in an rc4wd and it snapped 3 gates later right at the end of the axle at the pivot. First one I was bound up second one was on a hillclimb. Im running a 10.5 motor in my wraith so that may be my problem also.

I was given no indication as to the price point. I did mention the price point of the Axial and the RC4Wd ones when he decided to take on the project. I also told him his bend it break it warranty would be embraced by the Wraith community..
He told me he wants to get a wraith for the shop.. This could mean more parts..

These ones are only $48 USD per pair for the Slash 4x4..

I was hoping around the same price..
