| Re: JHTreyIII's 'Big Metal Bitch' Wraith Build Ha, I don't care if they're up. This thread sharted too late to be a real build thread. More than anything it's just a place for me to post stupid crap about the Big Metal Bitch. My Class 1 thread is a real build thread...starting from the ground up! That dang truck is going to be so nice I'm not going to want to drive it. |

Question, I just installed a bumper similar to yours with the winch mount. I've lost a lot of front shock travel because my servo horn is hitting the underside of the winch mount. Do you have the same problem with your chassis mounted servo? Mine is still mounted on the truss. Thanks.

OK, thanks for answering up. It's off to Vanquish tomorrow, they're right down the road.

So I got to Vanquish today and asked for a CMS ( chassis servo mount) WRONG. I was told I needed the entire Panhard kit. Why, I said, I just want to move my servo up onto the chassis so my new BRG bumper with winch plate will stop beating on my servo horn. I was then schooled on why I needed the Panhard kit. Seems if you just move the servo to the chassis you will have bump steer. I asked to see a demo as to what bump steer was and they not only explained it to me but showed me an example. Thanks Vanquish, that's why I keep going back.

I honestly don't know that bump steer matters that much in 1:10... What was the example and did it really apply to real world rc?

I will agree with Johnny here and to be completely honest I saw a major increase in bump steer when I went to the VP CMS with pan hard kit. The axle mounted steering performs the best IMO...just doesn't look as cool (and hits a winch). Form over function here. Now I never tried it with just the CMS and not the pan hard, I could see there being a ton of bump steer with that. Again, when you're crawling though, you're not going to notice it.

Shoot, that ain't bump steer. Try driving a 1:1 YJ with SOA conversion and NO pan hard. We're talking involuntary lane changes |
